Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Performance Monitoring Engineer based in Brazil. We are seeking an experienced Performance Monitoring Engineer to strengthen the performance, availability, and reliability of business-critical applications across cloud and hybrid environments. In this role, you will drive observability initiatives using Dynatrace, improving monitoring coverage, alert accuracy, dashboards, and service performance insights. You will collaborate with international application development, DevOps, platform engineering, and operations teams to identify issues, investigate root causes, and improve service resilience. The position combines hands-on monitoring administration, performance analysis, automation, and continuous improvement. You will also help establish monitoring standards, define service objectives, and integrate observability into development and operational workflows. This fully remote opportunity is ideal for a proactive technical professional who enjoys solving complex challenges and working with global, multicultural teams.

Dynatrace Monitoring and Administration Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot Dynatrace monitoring across applications, services, and supporting infrastructure in cloud and on-premises environments. Install, configure, and manage Dynatrace components, including OneAgent, ActiveGate, and platform integrations. Validate monitoring coverage and telemetry quality for new and existing services. Establish and maintain standards for tagging, management zones, naming conventions, alert routing, dashboards, and operational runbooks. Alerting, Dashboards, and Service Reliability Develop and optimize alerting strategies using events, problem detection, anomaly detection, thresholds, and performance baselines. Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and service health views for technical teams and leadership. Define and recommend performance monitoring KPIs, Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) aligned with business outcomes. Analyze performance and capacity trends, identify degradation and scalability risks, and recommend appropriate improvements. Incident Management and Root-Cause Analysis Support incident triage by analyzing distributed traces, service dependencies, logs, metrics, service flows, and user-experience indicators. Conduct in-depth investigations into performance, reliability, and scalability issues. Work with engineering and operations teams to assess impact, identify root causes, and track corrective actions. Integrate Dynatrace with IT Service Management (ITSM) platforms and collaboration tools to streamline ticket creation, alert enrichment, and incident routing. Automation and Continuous Improvement Automate monitoring onboarding and operational tasks using APIs, scripting, CI/CD practices, and configuration-as-code approaches. Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to instrument applications and embed observability throughout the software development lifecycle. Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and monitoring knowledge resources. Guide and support teams adopting Dynatrace and observability best practices. Requirements: At least 5 years of experience in application development, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), platform engineering, or production operations in cloud or hybrid environments. Strong understanding of application performance monitoring and observability concepts, including metrics, logs, traces, dependency mapping, synthetic monitoring, alerting, SLOs, and SLAs. Proven experience troubleshooting production performance and reliability issues using telemetry data and structured investigation techniques. Working knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, containers, Kubernetes, Windows and Linux environments, HTTP, DNS, load balancing, and networking fundamentals. Experience working with AWS or Azure cloud environments. Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, Bash, APIs, or equivalent technologies. Understanding of CI/CD practices and their application to monitoring automation and scalable service onboarding. Ability to learn and apply Dynatrace effectively to service onboarding, telemetry validation, dashboard development, alert optimization, and troubleshooting. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and collaboration skills. Fluent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate effectively with international stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with distributed, multicultural teams. Preferred: Hands-on experience with Dynatrace in enterprise environments, including large-scale administration. Preferred: Dynatrace Associate or Professional certification. Preferred: Experience with ITSM integrations and operational workflows. A bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; relevant professional experience may be considered in place of a specific academic background. Availability for occasional schedule flexibility to accommodate global meetings, critical incidents, or production activities. Willingness to travel exceptionally, if required. Benefits: 100% remote working model within Brazil. Contractor engagement under a PJ (Pessoa Jurídica) arrangement. Opportunity to work with international teams across application development, DevOps, platform engineering, and operations. Exposure to enterprise-scale observability, cloud technologies, performance engineering, and modern automation practices. Collaborative, agile working environment focused on technical excellence and continuous improvement. Salary, healthcare coverage, paid leave, and other additional benefits were not specified in the original job description.
