Context

Power Supply Manager

Missions/Main Duties

  • Project Leadership: Manage all aspects of power supply systems (traction, auxiliary, emergency power) for the high-speed rail project from concept design to commissioning and handover.
  • Design Review & Consultancy: Oversee and support the design of power supply solutions, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and operational standards of UAE and international railway norms.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Interface with clients, consultants, contractors, authorities, and internal teams to ensure smooth execution and integration of power supply systems.
  • Technical Assessments: Evaluate feasibility studies, technical proposals, and tender documents; recommend best practices and value engineering solutions.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure all power supply works comply with local statutory requirements, environmental standards, and railway best practices.
  • Budget & Scheduling: Prepare and manage budgets, resources, project schedules, and risk registers for power supply sub-projects.
  • Quality Assurance: Develop and monitor QA/QC plans, testing and commissioning strategies, and HSE protocols related to power systems.
  • Reporting: Provide regular progress reports, technical documentation, and presentations to project teams and senior management.
  • Training & Support: Mentor junior engineers, facilitate knowledge transfer, and support operational readiness and handover activities.

Profile/Skills

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master's degree or PMP certification is an advantage.

Background:

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in the design and management of power supply systems for rail infrastructure, with a strong focus on rail/high-speed rail.
  • Proven track record in project management within international consultancy or major infrastructure projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of traction power, substations, overhead catenary, SCADA, and associated safety standards.
  • Experience working in the GCC/UAE and familiarity with local regulations is highly desired.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
  • Familiarity with FIDIC contract framework and project controls tools.
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering software (ETAP, AutoCAD, BIM, MS Project, etc.).
  • Multicultural team management experience.
  • Fluency in English.
