Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Pro A/V Sales Engineer - Kairos Platform based in Canada. As a Pro A/V Sales Engineer, you will serve as the technical specialist supporting the sales and delivery of advanced KAIROS live production solutions. You will work with customers across broadcast, sports venues, corporate environments, education, and houses of worship, guiding engagements from technical discovery and demonstrations through post-sales support. The role combines professional video expertise with IP networking, software-based production, systems integration, and consultative selling. You will design complete production environments, lead proof-of-concept activities, and advise customers on technical solutions that meet their operational needs. You will also provide training, commissioning, event support, and troubleshooting for mission-critical live productions. This is a highly collaborative role for a technical professional who enjoys customer interaction, continuous learning, and working at the forefront of IP-based video technology.

Conduct technical pre-sales visits with customers, partners, and sales managers to position KAIROS solutions for professional live production applications. Deliver KAIROS demonstrations, proof-of-concept trials, technical presentations, and competitive comparisons, helping customers understand the value and capabilities of the platform. Develop detailed KAIROS system designs, signal-flow diagrams, IP network topologies, and bills of materials, including integrations with cameras, professional audio equipment, and third-party systems. Support sales events, trade shows, seminars, and other customer-facing activities through product demonstrations and technical presentations. Train sales teams on KAIROS, IP video technologies, production workflows, and competitive positioning. Manage and resolve assigned KAIROS performance, operational, and integration issues, escalating complex matters to product engineering and factory teams when required. Provide virtual and on-site training to operators, engineers, and integrators covering KAIROS operation, configuration, administration, software updates, and troubleshooting. Deliver paid on-site technical services for KAIROS installations, system setup, network configuration, commissioning, and production readiness. Support customers during live productions and events, including rehearsals, show-day operations, real-time troubleshooting, and technical issue resolution. Continuously expand expertise in KAIROS software releases, IP video standards, A/V technologies, and related networking protocols, including SMPTE ST 2110, NMOS, PTP, NDI, Dante, and AES67. Maintain working knowledge of KAIROS and the third-party software, control systems, networking equipment, and technologies commonly integrated into professional production environments. Collaborate with internal teams and share technical knowledge, best practices, and field experience to strengthen overall organizational capabilities. Participate in product and service meetings and validate new KAIROS releases and features in demonstration and laboratory environments. Build and maintain demonstration systems and reference configurations for sales, training, testing, and customer engagements. Develop and maintain strong relationships with the KAIROS customer base, gathering feedback on customer needs, competitor capabilities, product strengths and weaknesses, and unmet requirements. Produce Voice of the Customer reports and communicate relevant market insights to product management, planning, and development teams. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Broadcast Engineering, AV Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience. 7–10 years of professional experience in the professional video, broadcast, or AV industry, including at least 3 years working with IP-based live production systems. Strong working knowledge of SMPTE ST 2110, including PTP timing, ST 2022-7 redundancy, and NMOS, as well as NDI-based IP live production workflows. Hands-on experience designing and operating IT and IP networks, including multicast, VLANs, managed switches, 10GbE or higher environments, network security, and AV-focused networking products. Practical experience with professional live production switchers, video mixers, multiviewers, graphics, clip playback, camera control, and related production workflows. Working knowledge of IP audio networking and integration, including Dante, AES67, SMPTE ST 2110-30, audio mixers and consoles, and embedded audio workflows. Experience with PTZ cameras, auto-tracking systems, and streaming workflows such as SRT and RTMP as they integrate with professional live production environments. Hands-on experience with Windows, macOS, and Linux, including the configuration and deployment of high-performance CPU and GPU server environments. Familiarity with control integration and automation technologies such as REST APIs, scripting, and macros is an advantage. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to use active listening, analysis, research, creativity, and sound judgment to quickly resolve customer, sales, and technical challenges. Ability to learn quickly, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and remain effective in a dynamic environment with limited day-to-day supervision. Strong interest in rapidly evolving IP and software-based live production technologies, with the ability to monitor industry trends and competitive developments. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical, project, and sales concepts to customers, prospects, partners, and internal teams. Strong presentation skills and confidence delivering technical demonstrations and presentations to both small and large audiences. Ability to build collaborative relationships with customers, consultants, integrators, partners, sales teams, and technical stakeholders. Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when required to support customers' live productions and events. Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing at least 40 pounds. Benefits: Competitive annual salary ranging from $95,000 to $115,000 USD, plus bonus opportunities. Medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage, with Health Savings Account and Flexible Spending Account options. Access to retirement savings through a 401(k) plan with company matching contributions and immediate vesting. Voluntary insurance options covering life, accident, critical illness, disability, legal services, identity theft, and pet insurance. Paid time off including vacation, holidays, personal days, sick leave, volunteer time, and parental and caregiver leave. Tuition reimbursement for eligible job-related courses after six months of service. Lifestyle and wellbeing programs supporting physical, emotional, financial, and social health. Employee assistance and virtual health management resources, including support for chronic conditions, neurodiversity, tobacco cessation, substance abuse, life stages, and fertility. Fully remote or flexible work environment, depending on business and customer requirements. Opportunity to work with advanced professional video, IP networking, live production, automation, and software-based production technologies.
