Position: Rotational

We are seeking an experienced Production Engineer to join our site-based Production Team. This role is critical to ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable production operations across our asset portfolio.

The role offers the opportunity to work closely with operations, subsurface, maintenance, drilling, and planning teams to maximise hydrocarbon production while maintaining the highest standards of safety, environmental stewardship, and asset integrity.

Key Responsibilities

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

  • Promote and champion a strong HSE culture across all production operations.
  • Ensure full compliance with the Permit to Work system, company policies, and HSE Management System requirements.
  • Support environmental performance objectives and ensure operations are conducted in accordance with regulatory and company standards.
  • Act as Deputy On-Scene Commander during emergency response situations and participate in emergency drills and exercises.

Production Operations

  • Optimise production performance, availability, and uptime across oil-producing wells, water and gas injection wells, and associated facilities.
  • Safeguard the technical integrity and operational reliability of production assets and equipment.
  • Coordinate and supervise routine field activities, including pigging, scraping, well testing, and basic wellhead maintenance.
  • Ensure crude oil processing, treatment, storage, and export activities meet quality and operational specifications.
  • Implement optimal well and facility operating parameters to maximise production whilst respecting environmental and flaring constraints.
  • Work closely with Well Performance, Subsurface, and Asset Planning teams to deliver production targets and support forecasting activities.

Production Surveillance & Reporting

  • Ensure accurate, reliable, and timely collection of production and operational data.
  • Coordinate well testing, production surveillance, and data quality assurance activities.
  • Maintain high-quality records within production databases and information systems.
  • Prepare and contribute to daily, weekly, and monthly production reports to support operational decision-making.

Drilling, Workovers & Maintenance Support

  • Support the planning and execution of drilling, completion, and workover activities, including well preparation and facility tie-ins.
  • Liaise closely with maintenance teams to coordinate equipment servicing and minimise production downtime.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of major shutdown and maintenance campaigns,

Technical Excellence & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop, review, and update operating procedures to ensure alignment with best practice and operational requirements.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to field operations teams.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency, reliability, and operational performance.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will bring a strong technical foundation, practical field experience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering from a recognised university.
  • Proven experience in production engineering and field production operations within the oil and gas industry.
  • Experience in production planning, scheduling, surveillance, and optimisation activities.
  • Good understanding of well performance, production systems, and subsurface interactions.
  • Experience supporting drilling, workover, and facility operations is advantageous.

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in PI System (RTO), PI DataLink, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of production optimisation tools and methodologies.
  • Experience with Prosper or similar well modelling software is desirable.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making capabilities.
