This role provides financial oversight for multiple national programs focused on resettlement and community support. You will partner closely with finance leadership and program directors to manage budgets, forecasts, reporting, spending controls, and financial compliance. The position plays a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial information across both internal programs and subgrantee organizations. You will analyze budget performance, identify financial trends, advise leaders on spending and staffing allocations, and develop practical tools to strengthen financial management. The role also supports monitoring visits, audits, financial training, and the implementation of consistent accounting practices across a distributed network. Strong knowledge of nonprofit finance, government funding requirements, and Uniform Guidance is important for success. This is a full-time remote U.S. position requiring reliable connectivity, proximity to an airport, and occasional domestic travel.
Support program directors in developing, monitoring, and managing budgets for multiple resettlement and community programs. Collaborate closely with the central Finance team on financial matters affecting program operations and ensure consistent application of financial policies, protocols, and standards. Ensure program financial activities comply with applicable federal funding requirements and Uniform Guidance. Coordinate with Finance and financial projections teams to develop and manage recurring financial reports, forecasts, and financial planning activities. Analyze program budgets and spending trends and provide recommendations to program directors regarding budget management and resource allocation. Maintain accurate and comprehensive financial records and establish systems for tracking program revenue and expenses, including those of subgrantees. Liaise regularly with implementing sites, program finance teams, and headquarters stakeholders to ensure timely submission of required financial reports and resolve reporting or financial issues. Monitor monthly expenses across national programs and individual program sites to ensure spending remains aligned with approved budgets. Advise program directors on available funding and staffing allocations and ensure salary allocations are accurately reflected in financial records. Develop guidance, templates, and tracking tools for financial documentation and provide technical assistance to program teams on their effective use. Produce monthly spending reports for program sites and support ongoing budget review and financial monitoring. Create new budgets, financial templates, and reporting tools as program requirements evolve. Provide training to headquarters staff and program teams on budget review, financial processes, and program finance practices. Review and analyze actual-versus-budget performance on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis across active projects. Prepare and conduct the financial components of site visits, monitoring activities, and evaluations of subgrantees. Support preparation for audits conducted by federal funders and help ensure appropriate financial documentation is available. Develop and maintain sound accounting procedures and financial management practices across supported programs. Requirements: Hold a Bachelor's degree in Finance or possess equivalent professional experience in lieu of a degree. Bring at least 6 years of professional experience in nonprofit accounting or finance, with strong knowledge of nonprofit financial management practices. Demonstrate familiarity with OMB Uniform Guidance and federally funded program requirements. Possess strong financial management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Have experience working with financial management systems and using data to support budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and decision-making. Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when working with financial information. Familiarity with government and private funding requirements, contracts, and compliance obligations is preferred. Be comfortable working in a multicultural and geographically distributed environment. Demonstrate the ability to communicate financial information clearly to program leaders, finance professionals, implementing sites, and other stakeholders. Be capable of managing multiple priorities, deadlines, reporting cycles, and financial projects independently. Have reliable internet access suitable for consistent remote work. Be located within practical proximity to an airport and willing to travel occasionally to locations across the national network and to finance meetings. Be able to work standard hours of 37.5 hours per week, including core business hours of 10:00 AM–4:00 PM EST, with occasional evening or weekend work as assigned. Be able to perform the physical requirements associated with occasional work activities, including lifting up to 50 pounds, with reasonable accommodations available where applicable.
