Applications are open for the Project Kuongoza for Women and Girls 2026/2027 . Project Kuongoza is a Mentorship and Fellowship program that empowers young women and girls to lead and gain practical experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Innovation (STEMi) careers. A career in these fields will seem as attractive and attainable as any other. They believe Mentorship can increase self-confidence, boost communication skills, and enhance leadership qualities that will benefit young women and girls throughout their careers.
Women and girls remain significantly underrepresented in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields across Sub-Saharan Africa and MENA nations. Despite making up roughly half the population, women account for a disproportionately small share of STEM students, researchers, and professionals. They are addressing this with a deliberately designed digital mentorship model that pairs young women and girls with role models, providing continuous guidance, practical skills, and confidence as they navigate the workforce.
Benefits
Successful participants are paired with a professional mentor or leader to undergo a 6-month mentoring journey.
