You will help improve how Victoria's prison system works.You will support projects that strengthen safety and daily operations.You will work across prisons, with varied work and clear purpose.You will build skills in project work, analysis and public service.Ongoing, full-time role earning $100,894 - $114,476 per year, plus super.What you will doThe Project Officer reports to Senior Continuous Improvement Officer in Continuous Improvement and is responsible for contributing to a range of work that strengthens operations and enhances safety. In this role you will respond to emerging risks and issues by liaising with a variety of staff and stakeholders, gathering information and data and delivering a variety of outcomes and projects within tight timeframes and within a complex operating environment. The Project Officer will need to be organised, detailed focussed, have strong record keeping, communicate effectively and work well alone and in a team.As Project Officer, you will support projects that improve prison operations and safety. You will gather information, track risks and help deliver work on time.You will:support continuous improvement across custodial operations.help deliver change and innovation projects across the prison system.create clear tools, templates and processes for accurate reports and projects.prepare briefings, correspondence and policies using information from different sources.monitor projects, identify risks and trends and report issues when needed.About youThere are no mandatory qualifications for this role. A relevant tertiary qualification would be highly desirable.You should understand project management and the key issues affecting Corrections Victoria. You should also show clear thinking, sound judgement and strong communication.You should also have:project management knowledge and an understanding of Corrections Victoria's work.critical thinking skills and the ability to solve problems using evidence.flexibility and teamwork skills when priorities or work settings change.clear communication and inclusion skills when working with people from varied backgrounds.To learn even more about this role, please read the position description.
