The Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF), as part of the preparations for the new programming period 2028–2034, has developed a proposed new funding portfolio aimed at strengthening Cyprus’ research and innovation (R&I) ecosystem and maximising the economic and societal impact of public investment. The Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF), as part of the preparations for the new programming period 2028–2034, has developed a proposed new funding portfolio aimed at strengthening Cyprus’ research and innovation (R&I) ecosystem and maximising the economic and societal impact of public investment.
The proposed funding portfolio aims to establish a more integrated and impact-oriented framework that:

The proposed portfolio architecture is structured around five interconnected pillars:

Each pillar comprises a portfolio of programmes designed to address specific challenges and opportunities while creating coherent pathways through which talent, knowledge, technologies and ideas can progress, grow and deliver measurable economic and societal impact.
Invitation to Participate in the Consultation
RIF invites all stakeholders of the Research and Innovation ecosystem to review the proposed portfolio and provide their views and suggestions.
The present consultation focuses on the overall portfolio design and its underlying intervention logic, rather than on the detailed design of individual funding programmes. The detailed programme design will be subject to subsequent programme-specific consultations at a later stage.

The feedback received will be used to further refine the proposed intervention logic and will inform the subsequent development of the detailed programme specifications, which will be put forward for consultation at a later stage.
