RIKEN's Accelerator Group is recruiting a few research and technical scientists for cryogenic systems or high-intensity heavy-ion beam diagnostics at the RI Beam Factory.

Selected staff will work either on the superconducting ring cyclotron's liquid-helium cooling system, including machine-learning methods for integrity prediction and early failure diagnosis, or on beam monitors, non-destructive diagnostics, high-speed electronics, automated data acquisition and analysis. Research/Technical Scientist pay starts at JPY 640,000 per month including discretionary work allowance; senior ranks start at JPY 670,000.
Eligibility requirements
A doctoral degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience is required. Previous accelerator-specific R&D experience is not mandatory. Applicants select cryogenic-system work, beam-diagnostics work, or both in their application.
