KONE Middle East, Turkey & Africa (KMTA) is embarking on an exciting growth journey with a direct presence in 7 regions. Safety is a core strategic priority for our business, and we are seeking a Safety Engineer to join our team. This role is based on-site in the UAE and will support the Safety Manager in enhancing safety management, understanding, and performance across the designated organizational area.
As a Safety Engineer, you will collaborate with global, area, and unit teams to implement, maintain, and continuously improve the KONE Way for Safety.

Key Responsibilities:
Safety policy and objectives
• Support the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the KONE safety management system (operating model) including worker, user, and third-party safety • Cultivate an understanding and actively caring culture for safety. Act as a role model • Compile, maintain, and improve safety documentation together with the unit safety team • Actively participate in and contribute to the unit safety committee and other safety forums • Provide professional advice and support to the unit on matters affecting safety • Plan, participate in, and implement projects and activities to improve safety • Work closely with customers and partners, including KONE subcontractors • Support the development, review, and exercise of crisis and emergency response plans
Safety risk management
• Monitor and develop safety risk management processes, tools, and practices • Support safety-related change management projects and initiatives
Safety assurance • Collect, measure, and ensure the accuracy of leading and lagging safety data. Report performance • Monitor legal and business environment development in safety, identify and propose actions • Perform safety audits regularly to verify compliance, identify uncontrolled risks and deviations • Assist line management in safety audits/visits and support the audit process improvement • Analyse and investigate incidents. Support the investigation process improvement • Manage corrective and preventive actions for continual improvement
Safety promotion • Develop own competencies as a safety specialist in co-operation with the manager • Support the training and development of others’ safety competencies in the unit • Proactively communicate safety information including investigation outcomes and best practices
Are You the One?
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
- NEBOSH certification is mandatory; additional safety certifications are a plus.
- 2–5 years of experience in safety, ideally within the elevator industry.
- Trakhees approved safety Engineer.
- Fluency in English is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal and people management skills.
- Proficiency in problem-solving, incident management, auditing, and analytical tasks.
