Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sales Engineer based in Spain. As a Sales Engineer, you will bridge the gap between advanced cybersecurity technology, customer needs, and regulatory requirements, helping organizations strengthen their security posture and make informed technology decisions. You will partner with sales teams and channel partners throughout the technical sales cycle, delivering demonstrations, workshops, and proof-of-value engagements. Your expertise will help customers understand how security solutions support threat prevention, detection and response, incident investigation, and operational resilience. You will also translate cybersecurity regulations and industry frameworks into practical technical controls, compliance mappings, and supporting evidence. Working closely with Sales, Product, Research and Development, and Security teams, you will contribute to successful customer outcomes and continuous product improvement. This role offers the opportunity to combine technical pre-sales expertise, cybersecurity knowledge, and customer engagement in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Technical Sales and Pre-Sales Support Partner with Account Executives and channel partners throughout the sales cycle, providing technical expertise and helping customers understand the value of cybersecurity solutions. Conduct technical discovery sessions to assess customer infrastructure, security architecture, operational challenges, and regulatory requirements. Deliver engaging technical presentations, product demonstrations, workshops, and Proof of Concept (PoC) or Proof of Value (PoV) engagements tailored to customer needs. Demonstrate cybersecurity capabilities across endpoint protection, threat detection and response, automated investigation and remediation, security monitoring, and Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services. Design and recommend appropriate solution architectures and deployment models based on customer environments, security objectives, and technical requirements. Support technical evaluations and competitive assessments, address customer objections, and clearly communicate the technical advantages and business value of proposed solutions. Manage technical aspects of PoC and PoV engagements, document findings, and communicate outcomes to relevant stakeholders. Support the preparation and evaluation of Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Quotations (RFQs), and public or private tenders. Cybersecurity Compliance and Requirements Mapping Interpret relevant cybersecurity regulations, standards, and frameworks, including GDPR, NIS2, DORA, ISO/IEC 27001, and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework. Translate regulatory and security requirements into practical technical controls, configurations, capabilities, and supporting evidence. Map cybersecurity solutions to customer-specific control requirements, helping organizations understand how available capabilities can support their security and compliance programs. Create, maintain, and update compliance mapping documents, control matrices, and technical documentation that demonstrate alignment between security requirements and product capabilities. Help customers assess how security technologies can support threat prevention, endpoint detection and response, incident investigation, vulnerability and exposure management, security logging, automated remediation, and continuous monitoring. Explain how cybersecurity capabilities contribute to operational resilience, security testing, incident response, and the collection of evidence for internal or external assessments. Collaborate with internal technical teams to validate product capabilities and ensure that compliance-related explanations are accurate and aligned with available functionality. Cross-Functional Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing Work closely with Sales, Post-Sales, Product, Research and Development, Support, Security, and other internal stakeholders to deliver effective customer solutions. Share technical expertise, field insights, best practices, and lessons learned with colleagues across the Sales Engineering organization. Support Sales Engineers and regional teams when additional technical expertise or resources are needed. Contribute to internal enablement sessions, technical workshops, and knowledge-sharing initiatives that strengthen team capabilities. Build trusted relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders through clear communication, accountability, and a collaborative approach. Take ownership of individual responsibilities while prioritizing shared objectives, customer success, and the overall effectiveness of the Sales Engineering team. Requirements: Proven experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Technical Pre-Sales, or a comparable customer-facing technical role, ideally within cybersecurity or enterprise technology. Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including endpoint security, threat detection and response, security monitoring, incident investigation, vulnerability management, and security remediation. Experience conducting technical discovery, delivering product demonstrations and workshops, supporting PoC or PoV engagements, and addressing technical objections throughout the sales process. Ability to understand customer infrastructure and security architectures, assess technical requirements, and recommend appropriate solution designs and deployment approaches. Familiarity with cybersecurity regulations, standards, and frameworks such as GDPR, NIS2, DORA, ISO/IEC 27001, and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework. Ability to translate regulatory and compliance requirements into technical controls, product capabilities, and supporting evidence, including the preparation of compliance mapping documents and control matrices. Experience supporting RFPs, RFQs, tender processes, technical evaluations, or competitive product assessments. Strong technical documentation skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate, and structured materials for customers, partners, and internal teams. Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain complex cybersecurity concepts and regulatory requirements to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the judgment to connect customer challenges to practical security solutions and communicate technical limitations transparently. A collaborative, customer-focused mindset, with a willingness to share knowledge, support colleagues across territories, and contribute to team-wide success. High levels of ownership, accountability, adaptability, and professionalism when managing multiple stakeholders and competing priorities. Nice to have: Relevant cybersecurity certifications or qualifications in information security, risk management, or security architecture. Experience working with customers in regulated industries or organizations subject to stringent operational resilience and cybersecurity requirements. Familiarity with Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services and AI-powered security platforms. Experience working with channel partners, managed service providers, or cybersecurity resellers. Previous involvement in security audits, technical assessments, or customer compliance initiatives. Benefits: Annual gross compensation ranging from €60,000 to €70,000 , including base salary and variable compensation, depending on location, experience, seniority, and skills. Opportunity to work with modern, AI-powered cybersecurity technologies focused on threat detection, protection, and response. Exposure to a diverse range of customers, partners, technical environments, and cybersecurity challenges. Close collaboration with cross-functional teams across Sales, Product, Security, Research and Development, and Support. Opportunities to expand expertise in cybersecurity architecture, technical pre-sales, and regulatory requirements mapping. A collaborative team culture emphasizing knowledge sharing, mutual support, shared accountability, and customer success.
