Full job description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a SAP Plan to Produce Business Process Lead based in the United States. We are seeking an experienced SAP business process leader to guide the Plan to Produce workstream within a large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation. This business-focused role centers on redesigning operational processes to achieve measurable business outcomes, rather than simply implementing technical solutions. You will lead fit-to-standard workshops, align stakeholders around SAP best practices, and translate business requirements into effective process designs. Working across interconnected workstreams, you will resolve dependencies and ensure process integrity throughout design, development, and deployment. Your expertise will help connect production planning, manufacturing execution, quality, and inventory management into a cohesive operating model. This contract opportunity is ideal for a strategic thinker who combines deep manufacturing process knowledge with practical SAP transformation experience.
Lead the business through the Plan to Produce workstream of a large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation, ensuring process design remains aligned with business objectives. Guide the program through fit-to-standard workshops for the Plan to Produce domain, helping stakeholders assess business requirements against standard SAP capabilities and best practices. Define and drive business process designs that prioritize operational outcomes and business needs over technology-led decisions. Identify, manage, and resolve cross-workstream process dependencies to ensure alignment across the broader transformation program. Maintain process integrity throughout design, build, and deployment, ensuring that agreed business processes are consistently reflected in the solution. Translate SAP S/4HANA functionality into clearly defined business processes, master data requirements, and operational inputs. Support process design across demand management and supply planning, production engineering and execution, material staging and production supply, quality management, and batch and inventory management. Develop and document business process flows that provide clear guidance for implementation and operational alignment. Apply SAP best practices and structured process design methodologies to support consistent, effective transformation outcomes. Requirements Deep experience in business process design, particularly within SAP environments, supported by a strong understanding of underlying business operations independent of specific technology. Proven experience implementing SAP through a business-led transformation approach in which process design drives system design. Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA functionality across the Plan to Produce domain, including: Demand management and supply planning. Production engineering and execution. Material staging and production supply. Quality management. Batch and inventory management. Ability to work backward from SAP functionality to define the business processes, master data, and operational inputs required for successful implementation. Demonstrated experience creating detailed business process flows and translating complex operational requirements into clear process documentation. Strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills, particularly when leading fit-to-standard workshops and resolving cross-functional process dependencies. Ability to maintain a business-first perspective while balancing standard SAP capabilities, operational requirements, and transformation objectives. Preferred qualifications: Working knowledge of SAP's Activate methodology and experience leveraging SAP Best Practice process flows. Experience creating business process flows using Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) standards. Benefits Hourly compensation: $115–$130 per hour. Contract engagement: 1099 independent contractor arrangement. Work location: Remote within the United States. Travel: Some travel to client sites may be required, typically on a monthly or quarterly basis. Benefits eligibility: This independent contractor engagement is not eligible for the partner company's employee benefits. Healthcare, paid leave, retirement, and other perks: Not specified for this contract position.
