From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.

We are hiring Full Stack engineers, Backend and FrontEnd engineers to build dashboards and backend services for two critical items for our org - 1/ dashboards for metrics that quite literally flow from out of this world - This would indeed be the satellites in-orbit telemetry flowing back to earth. 2/ tracking and managing software releases , organizing and scheduling the tests for the okay to fly ceremonies before handing off to the team that manages space OTAs.

The work is in Python, Rust, Node JS using standard well known cloud technologies and components.

Key job responsibilities

  • Design and implement cloud applications and services to aid in Flight software releases.
  • Partner with the Satellite, Networks and other engineering teams
  • Collaborate and build scalable cloud application and services and UI that work across devices and browsers.
  • Leverage agentic development workflows and generative AI tools to accelerate feature delivery, and identify opportunities to improve infrastructure using AWS native services.
  • Participate actively in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to teammates while coaching others on best practices, UI design patterns, and maintainable coding standards.
  • Write clear documentation for your team's software and train new team members on how it is constructed, tested, and operated.

Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

A day in the life You might start your morning reviewing a pull request from a teammate, suggesting improvements to app design pattern and performance. After standup, you pick up a new feature that doesn't have a clear precedent yet, sketching out an approach with the tech lease before writing code. In the afternoon, you pair with a team members and product managers to refine interaction details for an upcoming launch, then dig into an operational metric that looks off, tracing it to a rendering edge case you fix before it reaches customers.

About the team We are part of the Flight Software and Comms org in the Satellite & Networking division in Amazon Leo. This is a new team that owns the dashboards, analytics, AI enabled triaging for flight software and comms metrics and just responsible for putting together and

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 1+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
