Senior Accountant

SUMMARY: The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing complex accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting compliance with GAAP and internal controls. This role plays a key part in month-end close, financial analysis, and process improvement. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Lead and execute month-end and year-end close processes Prepare and review complex journal entries and account reconciliations Ensure accuracy of financial statements and supporting schedules Analyze variances and provide explanations to management Support internal and external audits; act as primary audit contact for assigned areas Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls Assist with system implementations and process improvements Mentor and review work of junior accounting staff as needed REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CPA-eligible preferred) 4–7+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems required Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Pay Range:  $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 Location:  Pasadena, CA BYD America Corporation/ BYD Motors, Inc./BYD Coach &Bus LLC/BYD Energy LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer that does not discriminate on the basis of actual or perceived race, color, national origin, ancestry, sex, gender, gender identity, pregnancy, childbirth or related medical condition, religious creed, physical disability, mental disability, age, medical condition, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, genetic information or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law.
