Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Business Analyst – Commercial P&C / MGA based in Brazil. Join a collaborative, remote-first team focused on implementing and optimizing commercial insurance technology solutions. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in Commercial Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance and Managing General Agent (MGA) operations to support the implementation of the Sure Commercial platform. You will work closely with underwriters, business stakeholders, product owners, architects, developers, and QA teams to translate complex business needs into practical system configurations and functional specifications. From broker submissions and underwriting workflows to rating, policy issuance, and renewals, your work will help streamline the end-to-end insurance lifecycle. You will also drive requirements analysis, system integration planning, and testing activities to ensure solutions meet business and operational expectations. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced business analyst who combines deep insurance domain knowledge with strong stakeholder management and a passion for delivering effective technology-driven solutions.

Business Requirements Analysis: Engage with MGA stakeholders, underwriters, and business teams to gather, analyze, validate, and document business requirements for commercial insurance platform implementation. Platform Configuration & Functional Design: Translate business needs into Sure Commercial configurations, user stories, functional specifications, workflows, business rules, and acceptance criteria. Fit-Gap Analysis: Assess existing business processes against platform capabilities, identify gaps, and recommend appropriate configuration, customization, or integration solutions. Commercial Insurance Lifecycle Support: Define and support requirements across commercial insurance products, underwriting, risk assessment, appetite and eligibility rules, rating, quoting, binding, policy issuance, endorsements, renewals, and cancellations. Broker Workflow Optimization: Design and document broker submission processes and submission-to-bind workflows to improve operational efficiency and ensure alignment with underwriting requirements. Systems Integration: Define and support integrations with rating engines, carriers, brokers, accounting platforms, and other downstream systems, collaborating with technical teams on data flows and functional requirements. Testing & Quality Assurance: Support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), develop test scenarios, analyze defects, validate fixes, and coordinate business sign-off. Stakeholder Collaboration: Facilitate client workshops and work closely with product owners, solution architects, developers, and QA professionals to align business objectives with technical implementation. Agile Delivery & Documentation: Maintain clear and structured documentation throughout the project lifecycle, contribute to Agile/Scrum ceremonies, and ensure requirements remain traceable from initial analysis through implementation and validation. Requirements: Professional Experience: At least eight years of business analysis experience, including substantial hands-on experience in Commercial Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance. MGA Domain Expertise: Strong understanding of the MGA business model, delegated underwriting operations, and the complete commercial insurance lifecycle, including underwriting, risk appetite, eligibility, rating, quote-to-bind processes, and policy transactions. Insurance Industry Background: Experience working with Managing General Agents, specialty insurers, program administrators, or delegated underwriting organizations. Commercial insurance experience is strongly preferred. Insurance Platform Experience: Hands-on experience with at least one commercial insurance platform, ideally involving implementation, configuration, or business process transformation. Business Analysis Deliverables: Proven ability to produce high-quality user stories, acceptance criteria, functional specifications, process flows, business rules, and requirements documentation. Implementation & Testing: Experience supporting insurance platform implementations, configuration activities, fit-gap assessments, System Integration Testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Client-Facing & Communication Skills: Strong stakeholder management, workshop facilitation, analytical thinking, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex insurance requirements into clear functional solutions. Agile Methodologies: Practical experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams throughout the software delivery lifecycle. Preferred Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON/XML, data mapping, and system integration concepts. Additional Preferred Skills: Exposure to ISO/Verisk, RAS, external rating engines, insurance data services, and tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, Confluence, Postman, or SQL is an advantage. Personal Attributes: A structured, detail-oriented, and proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to manage competing priorities, build strong stakeholder relationships, and work effectively in a distributed environment. Benefits: Remote Work: Fully remote working arrangement, offering flexibility in where you work. Contract Opportunity: Contract-based engagement suited to an experienced professional in commercial insurance business analysis. Specialized Industry Exposure: Opportunity to contribute to a commercial insurance technology implementation involving MGA operations and the end-to-end insurance lifecycle. Technical & Professional Development: Exposure to insurance platform configuration, business process optimization, system integrations, and modern software delivery practices. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside business stakeholders and multidisciplinary technology teams on complex implementation initiatives. International Work Environment: Opportunity to collaborate with distributed professionals and contribute to technology solutions supporting commercial insurance operations.
