Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Business Systems Engineer based in the United States. Join a growing Business Systems team focused on building reliable, scalable enterprise solutions that support critical business operations. In this hands-on engineering role, you will strengthen a sophisticated NetSuite environment, delivering high-quality customizations and integrations across Finance, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Member Experience. You will champion sound software engineering practices, prioritize root-cause solutions, and establish robust automated testing standards. You will also leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery while ensuring code quality, maintainability, and compliance with internal controls. Working closely with business analysts and platform administrators, you will help shape technical standards, reduce technical debt, and enable new business capabilities. This fully remote US-based opportunity is ideal for an experienced engineer who combines deep NetSuite expertise with strong analytical thinking and a commitment to sustainable, well-governed solutions.

Define, document, and execute NetSuite development tasks within an Agile team workflow using Atlassian Jira. Design, develop, and maintain high-quality SuiteScript solutions that follow software engineering best practices and address root causes rather than surface-level symptoms. Build and maintain automated unit, integration, and regression tests for critical customizations and integrations, helping establish team-wide delivery standards that include adequate test coverage. Apply AI-assisted and agentic development tools to accelerate SuiteScript, integration, and test development, using clear specifications, architecture documentation, and constraints to ensure generated code remains reliable and maintainable. Help establish standards for reviewing and releasing AI-assisted changes, including the change-management documentation required for SOX and IT General Controls (ITGC) compliance. Create and maintain reusable technical context, including architecture decision records, coding standards, and integration documentation, to improve collaboration and development effectiveness. Partner with the NetSuite Administrator to review and govern platform configuration, including roles, permissions, workflows, and bundles, ensuring changes are documented, reversible, and properly managed. Design, implement, and support scalable integrations between NetSuite and other enterprise systems. Collaborate with business users and internal business analysts across Finance, Supply Chain and Logistics, Financial Systems, and Member Experience to translate business needs into robust technical solutions. Balance delivery speed with quality, scalability, maintainability, and appropriate governance across a complex and frequently evolving integration environment. Requirements At least 6 years of total professional experience as a Business Systems Engineer, Business Systems Developer, or in a comparable technical role. At least 4 years of NetSuite development and/or administration experience. Hands-on experience with multiple NetSuite script types, including User Event, Client, Map/Reduce, Suitelet, RESTlet, and related scripting capabilities. Experience working in an Agile development environment and using a task management system such as Jira. Practical experience writing automated tests using a programming language or testing framework. Experience using AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot in day-to-day development, with sound judgment in validating, refining, or rejecting AI-generated output. Understanding of core business processes such as Order to Cash and Procure to Pay, along with foundational accounting principles. Extensive experience building integrations through iPaaS platforms, APIs, or direct system-to-system connections, with a solid understanding of authentication methods. Familiarity with NetSuite configuration and administration, including roles, permissions, and saved searches, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a dedicated administrator. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, including the confidence to challenge scope or timelines when a proposed solution is unlikely to be sustainable. A quality-focused engineering mindset, with the ability to balance technical rigor, business priorities, and delivery commitments. Benefits Competitive salary and equity packages. US base salary ranges by geographic region: Region 1: $172,000–$203,000 per year. Region 2: $158,000–$187,000 per year. Region 3: $147,000–$174,000 per year. Compensation is market-based and determined by relevant skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal equity, and market conditions. A recruiter can confirm the applicable pay region. Health, dental, and vision insurance, plus mental health resources. An employee ring and discounts for friends and family. 20 days of paid time off, 13 paid holidays, and 8 days of flexible wellness time off. Paid sick leave and parental leave. Remote work within the United States, subject to location eligibility. Applicants residing in Alaska, Delaware, Iowa, Mississippi, Nebraska, South Dakota, West Virginia, and Wisconsin are not eligible for this role.
