Senior Data Engineer / Integration Lead

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Data Engineer / Integration Lead based in United States. This role leads the design, integration, and continuous improvement of governed data pipelines supporting operational analytics and automation initiatives. You will translate complex data requirements into reliable ETL/ELT processes, traceable data models, and scalable integration architectures. The position works directly with authoritative operational data sources and Government-furnished technology environments. You will own source-to-target mapping, transformation logic, scheduling, data lineage, reconciliation, and technical issue resolution. Collaboration with data analysts, project managers, and Government stakeholders will be central to delivering accurate and high-availability decision-support products. The role also offers an opportunity to establish reusable data standards that can support future analytics workloads and evolving technical environments.

Lead the discovery and integration of authorized enterprise data sources, including source-system assessments, schema reviews, data-owner coordination, source-key identification, refresh analysis, and access-dependency tracking. Design, configure, schedule, and maintain automated ETL/ELT pipelines using approved integration tools, connectors, Palantir Foundry capabilities where applicable, and Government cloud or VDI environments. Develop source-to-target mappings, transformation specifications, data dictionaries, lineage documentation, schema-change controls, and data architecture standards. Build modular and reusable ingestion frameworks and data models that support current delivery requirements and the onboarding of future authorized analytics and automation workloads. Design technical solutions using modular, air-gapped-ready principles that can support potential future network migration requirements without performing restricted-network work during the base period. Implement data profiling, validation, cleansing, integrity checks, exception handling, and reconciliation processes to ensure released metrics accurately reflect authoritative sources. Lead root-cause analysis and resolve data mapping, transformation, refresh, performance, and pipeline issues within required service thresholds. Partner with Power BI and data analytics professionals to provide curated datasets, semantic-model inputs, refresh schedules, and traceable business rules for reporting and dashboard development. Build or support automated UAT scripts, release validation, pipeline monitoring, data-freshness checks, quality controls, and performance monitoring. Maintain code, configurations, documentation, and technical artifacts in designated repositories while supporting Government ownership and transition readiness. Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint reviews, backlog refinement, technical working sessions, and approved onsite integration or knowledge-transfer activities. Protect controlled and Government-furnished information by using only approved connectivity, environments, devices, and tools. Requirements: U.S. citizenship and the ability to satisfy required background investigation, CAC, and Government logical-access requirements. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data engineering, software engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent relevant professional experience may substitute for the degree. Seven or more years of progressively responsible experience in data engineering, data integration, database or data architecture, analytics engineering, or a related technical field. Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and sustaining automated and scheduled ETL/ELT pipelines integrating multiple enterprise data sources. Strong experience with data modeling, relational or analytical database design, source-to-target mapping, data lineage, data quality, reconciliation, and performance optimization. Proficiency in SQL and experience with at least one enterprise data integration, transformation, orchestration, or pipeline-development toolset. Experience working in Agile environments with version control, testing, documentation, and iterative release practices. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical dependencies, data-quality findings, integration risks, and solution options to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders. Hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry, including data pipelines, transforms, lineage, ontology or data-model concepts, scheduling/orchestration, and operational analytics is preferred. Experience with logistics, maintenance, readiness, aviation, flight-management, or other complex operational datasets is preferred. Experience with Air Force or DoD enterprise data environments or comparable Government-authoritative systems is preferred. Experience with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI Premium, SharePoint Online, or comparable Government cloud environments is preferred. Experience designing solutions that support controlled information handling, Government data ownership, and future air-gapped deployment requirements is an advantage.
