Senior DevOps Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer based in Brazil. This is a senior-level, fully remote DevOps opportunity supporting production-grade, cloud-native environments. You will architect resilient infrastructure and modern deployment platforms for high-performance Java applications. The role combines cloud engineering, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, observability, security, and reliability engineering. You will also contribute to high availability, disaster recovery, automated failover, and compliance-focused infrastructure practices. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will participate in technical discussions and translate business requirements into actionable engineering roadmaps. The environment values proactive problem-solving, continuous learning, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex technical initiatives. You will work full-time remotely while collaborating directly with client engineering teams in a consulting-oriented environment.

Architect resilient, scalable, and cloud-native infrastructure solutions aligned with technical best practices and business objectives. Design, deploy, and manage production-grade cloud environments supporting high-performance Java backend services. Standardize containerization and orchestration strategies using Docker and Kubernetes. Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines supporting continuous integration and delivery. Implement advanced observability strategies to monitor infrastructure and application performance and identify optimization opportunities. Develop and enforce Security as Code practices, integrating automated identity management, security controls, and compliance into CI/CD workflows. Design and implement high-availability configurations, automated failover, and disaster recovery strategies. Produce comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, migration roadmaps, operational runbooks, and infrastructure standards. Lead technical discussions with client teams, translating requirements into practical technical solutions and delivery roadmaps. Support infrastructure initiatives across multiple concurrent engagements while maintaining reliability, security, and delivery quality. Contribute to the continuous improvement of cloud infrastructure, platform engineering practices, and operational processes. Requirements: 7+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering roles within professional, consulting, or technology environments. Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and manage infrastructure solutions across multiple concurrent initiatives or client engagements. Deep understanding of the Java ecosystem , including Java 8, 11, 17, or 21, with experience running Spring Boot and Spring Cloud applications at scale. Production-level experience with event-streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka, Confluent, or AWS MSK , including their integration with cloud environments. Advanced expertise in Kubernetes and Docker , including container orchestration and cloud-native infrastructure management. Strong hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform . Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure automation, observability, security automation, and cloud reliability practices. Strong understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, automated failover, and infrastructure resilience. Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken, for direct collaboration in international and client-facing environments. Strong relationship-building, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills. Proactive mindset, adaptability, attention to detail, and commitment to continuous technical learning. Previous experience in consulting, professional services, or direct client-facing technical delivery is strongly preferred. Benefits: Full-time remote contract. Work remotely from Brazil as part of a Latin America-based engineering environment. Monthly compensation of USD $5,000–$6,000 , depending on seniority and skill set.
