Full job description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager, Partner Data Ingestion based in the United States. The Senior Engineering Manager, Partner Data Ingestion will lead the evolution of revenue-critical data systems that transform partner-reported activity into accurate, recognized revenue. This remote leadership role combines technical strategy, engineering management, and hands-on oversight of a multi-vertical platform migration. You will guide the transition from legacy batch processing to modern event-based and hourly ingestion while ensuring financial data remains accurate, complete, and reliable. Working closely with Finance, Business Development, Product, and engineering teams, you will drive delivery priorities and resolve complex data discrepancies. You will also champion AI-assisted development and automation to accelerate engineering workflows without compromising data integrity. This is an opportunity to build a high-performing team, modernize essential data infrastructure, and strengthen the systems that support critical business and financial decisions.
Hire, lead, mentor, and develop engineers at multiple levels, including senior and staff engineers, full-time employees, and contractors. Take ownership of revenue data accuracy, ensuring partner files, pricing rules, and data warehouse figures align with the amounts recognized by Finance. Lead the remaining migration of partners and business verticals from legacy ingestion systems to a unified modern platform, including developing new connectors to partner API portals. Oversee the safe retirement of legacy systems once the replacement platform has been validated and proven reliable. Drive the transition from scheduled batch jobs to event-based and hourly processing while maintaining uninterrupted revenue flows and accurate reconciliation for existing partners. Collaborate with Business Development, Finance, Product, and vertical engineering leaders to sequence migrations, resolve discrepancies, manage dependencies, and meet delivery commitments. Own sprint planning, project timelines, prioritization, and execution to ensure predictable delivery and high-quality outcomes. Promote the thoughtful adoption of AI-assisted development tools and automation to accelerate migrations and operational work, ensuring human review of changes that could affect revenue accuracy. Guide technical decisions related to pipeline architecture, data modeling, pricing logic, and platform design as partner contracts and business requirements evolve. Maintain strong engineering standards across code reviews, testing, documentation, monitoring, and the operational reliability of recurring data jobs. Identify and proactively manage delivery risks, including delayed partner files, pricing changes, and cross-team dependencies, escalating issues before they affect revenue reporting. Establish clear ownership and monitoring of data freshness, completeness, reconciliation, and issue resolution across ingestion workflows. Foster a culture of accountability, clear written communication, informed risk-taking, and continuous improvement. Requirements: At least 8 years of relevant software engineering experience. At least 5 years of experience managing and developing engineering teams. Proven experience owning production data pipelines or ingestion platforms where data correctness is essential, such as revenue, billing, or payments systems; FinTech or other regulated-industry experience is preferred. Demonstrated success leading migrations from legacy systems to new platforms while both systems remain in production. Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, with working knowledge of Snowflake and AWS. Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow, AWS Step Functions, or similar technologies. Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and designing pipelines that are idempotent, observable, reliable, and safe to rerun. Working knowledge of data-quality practices, including reconciliation, anomaly detection and review, and investigating discrepancies between source data and reported results. Experience partnering with Finance, Business Development, or other non-engineering stakeholders on data used for financial and business decisions. Demonstrated ability to coach and provide clear, actionable feedback to engineers at different career stages, including senior and staff-level professionals. Strong judgment in balancing delivery timelines with technical quality and reliability in systems where missing or duplicated data can have significant financial consequences. A track record of using automation, including AI-assisted development, to improve engineering productivity and team delivery. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly when explaining technical decisions, data discrepancies, and operational risks to non-technical stakeholders. Strong prioritization, problem-solving, and leadership skills, with the ability to navigate complex migrations while maintaining operational stability. Benefits: Annual base salary: $176,000–$330,000, depending on qualifications, skills, experience, and location. Equity compensation. Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and eligible dependents. Flexible paid vacation time, 11 company holidays, and a company-wide holiday shutdown. New parent leave for eligible employees welcoming a child through birth, adoption, or foster care. Mental health support and wellness resources. Paid sabbatical after five years of service. Health and dependent care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) and a Health Savings Account (HSA), with a monthly employer contribution. Monthly wellness and cell phone stipends. Monthly Wi-Fi stipend for eligible remote employees. Work-from-home equipment stipend and coworking space subsidy for eligible remote employees. 401(k) retirement plan with a 4% company match. Access to financial wellness resources, guidance, and a Certified Financial Planner through Northstar. Employer-paid disability and life insurance premiums. Employee Resource Groups supporting parents, diversity and inclusion, women, LGBTQIA+ employees, and other communities. Hackathons, team-building activities, employee appreciation events, and company-wide initiatives. Eight hours of volunteer time off per quarter, plus a company donation-matching program. Opportunities to explore and benefit from new financial products and tools. A flexible, remote-first work environment that supports professional development, inclusion, and meaningful impact.
