Full job description

As Group Internal Auditor at BESIX Group, you will work on a wide variety of audit assignments across the Group. You will have direct exposure to senior management and the opportunity to work in different countries and business environments.

You will join a small and dynamic team, with direct contact with the Global Head of Internal Audit.

The Role:

As Group Internal Auditor, you will:

  • Participate and lead internal audit missions, covering international entities, construction projects, financial matters and key business processes;
  • Review processes, internal controls and financial information;
  • Conduct interviews and analyse relevant documents and data;
  • Identify risks, control weaknesses and opportunities for improvement;
  • Discuss observations with operational and senior management;
  • Develop clear, pragmatic and value-adding recommendations;
  • Preparation of audit reports and presentations for senior management;
  • Follow up the implementation of agreed action plans;

Qualifications and requirements

  • You have a Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or another relevant field;
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in external audit, internal audit, consulting or a similar control function;
  • We are also open to strong profiles coming from finance, controlling, accounting or consulting, if their experience and skills fit well with the position;
  • Experience within an industrial, construction or project-based environment is an advantage;
  • You have a good understanding of financial analysis, accounting and internal controls;
  • Knowledge of project management or project-based activities is an advantage;
  • A CIA, CISA or similar professional certification is an advantage;
  • You are fluent in Dutch and/or French and have a very good level of English, both written and spoken;
  • You are comfortable using Microsoft Office. Experience with data analysis or audit tools is a plus;
  • You are willing and flexible to travel internationally for up to 20 to 25% of your time.
