The role includes leading or contributing to externally funded research, publishing scholarly outputs, developing interdisciplinary partnerships, translating research into policy and industry outcomes, building research capacity among early-career colleagues, and teaching across sustainable tourism, destination management, tourism policy, climate resilience and regenerative tourism.
Requirements & qualifications
PhD in Tourism, Sustainable Development, Tourism Management, Geography, Hospitality Management, Environmental Studies or a closely related discipline. Applicants should have a strong publication record, evidence of securing or materially contributing to external research or consultancy funding, academic leadership experience and relevant small-island or tourism expertise. English and French proficiency is required or an adequate level with commitment to improve. The successful candidate must meet Vanuatu immigration requirements and work full time in Port Vila.
