We are seeking an experienced Senior Maintenance Technician to support the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of our production equipment. As a Senior Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of complex manufacturing systems. This hands-on position involves advanced troubleshooting, mechanical and electrical repairs, preventive maintenance, and equipment optimization. The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical aptitude, practical problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to equipment reliability. Experience with machining, fabrication, and precision equipment repair is a valuable addition to this role. Responsibilities and Duties Conduct routine inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and preventive maintenance on production equipment to minimize downtime and optimize performance. Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, performing timely repairs to restore equipment reliability. Perform hands-on mechanical repairs, modifications, and fabrication of equipment components to support maintenance and operational needs. Utilize machining equipment, including manual mills, lathes, drill presses, and other shop tools, to repair, modify, or fabricate mechanical components as needed. Support precision machining and fabrication activities, including measuring, fitting, and modifying parts to meet equipment specifications and tolerances. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify equipment improvements, optimize machinery performance, and implement long-term reliability solutions. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and urgent repair needs, troubleshooting root causes and restoring operations efficiently. Assist with the installation, alignment, commissioning, and testing of new equipment or upgrades to existing systems. Interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical schematics to support troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment modifications. Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair records, and parts inventories using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and ensure equipment complies with OSHA and company safety standards. Partner with engineers, machine operators, and fellow technicians to resolve technical challenges and develop preventive maintenance strategies. Share technical knowledge and provide hands-on guidance to junior technicians, promoting best practices in maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment care. Work within a shift-based production environment, including weekends and overtime as operational needs require. Knowledge and Skill Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or certifications in industrial maintenance, machining, mechanical technology, or a related field preferred. Demonstrated experience performing maintenance and troubleshooting in a manufacturing, industrial, or high-volume production environment. Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings, motors, and power transmission components. Working knowledge of electrical systems, including wiring, motors, sensors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and basic PLC troubleshooting. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, electrical schematics, and equipment documentation. Preferred: Hands-on machining experience using manual mills, lathes, drill presses, or similar machine shop equipment to fabricate, repair, or modify mechanical components. Preferred: Familiarity with machining fundamentals, including cutting tools, material selection, dimensional tolerances, and precision measurement techniques. Experience with welding, metal fabrication, or custom equipment modifications is a plus. Knowledge of industrial safety standards and regulations, including LOTO procedures and safe operation of shop equipment. Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills with the ability to work independently. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to support and mentor other maintenance team members. Willingness to work flexible schedules, including shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed. Physical Demands and Working Conditions Pass a respirator fit test and be able to wear respiratory protection on a daily basis Wear personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, and steel toe safety shoes Move items up to 50 lbs with the assistance of lift equipment and carts Move long distances (such as from building to building) and be stationary for extended periods of time Reach low shelves or items on the floor Enter spaces narrower than 3 feet Climb stairs or over containment walls Precise and repetitive handling of a range of material quantities Operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, copier/printer, etc in a fixed location The starting base pay for this role is between $47/hr and $37/hr at the time of posting. The actual base pay depends on many factors, such as education, experience, and skills. Base pay is only one part of Sila’s competitive Total Rewards package that can include benefits, perks, and equity. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
