Full job description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Marketing Manager based in Canada. As a Senior Marketing Manager, you will lead the development and execution of a global marketing strategy for an innovative technology business transforming how critical infrastructure is inspected, monitored, and managed. Combining artificial intelligence, robotics, advanced sensing, and software, the organization delivers solutions that help protect essential infrastructure worldwide. You will shape the brand's market positioning, translate complex technical innovations into compelling commercial stories, and equip sales teams with the tools they need to drive growth. Working closely with leadership, Product, Sales, Customer Success, and external partners, you will identify valuable storytelling opportunities and turn customer successes into impactful marketing assets. This hands-on leadership role offers significant autonomy, ownership of marketing priorities, and the opportunity to build a scalable marketing function. Join a collaborative, remote-first environment where your strategic vision and execution will directly influence global visibility, customer engagement, and business growth.
Develop and execute a comprehensive global marketing strategy that strengthens brand positioning, supports business growth, and establishes a consistent presence across key markets. Define and maintain brand standards, messaging frameworks, and communication guidelines across the website, sales presentations, conferences, videos, case studies, and external communications. Lead product marketing initiatives in collaboration with Product teams, translating complex technology and technical capabilities into clear customer benefits, compelling value propositions, and differentiated market positioning. Own product launch messaging, solution briefs, product demonstrations, competitive positioning, and communications for new platform capabilities. Develop and maintain high-quality sales enablement materials, including pitch decks, customer presentations, brochures, one-pagers, videos, industry-specific collateral, and strategic account resources. Partner with Sales to understand customer needs, refine commercial messaging, and ensure sales teams have the materials required to win new business and expand existing accounts. Lead the customer storytelling strategy, identifying opportunities to transform successful deployments into compelling case studies, testimonials, technical articles, interviews, videos, and other marketing content. Work with internal teams and external content creators to capture customer outcomes, technical achievements, and visual assets during important infrastructure deployments. Build a thought leadership program focused on infrastructure, artificial intelligence, robotics, asset management, and infrastructure condition assessment, creating a consistent flow of relevant technical and executive content. Identify and pursue opportunities for media coverage, industry publications, executive interviews, awards, strategic partnerships, and other initiatives that increase brand visibility. Establish a strategic conference and field marketing plan in collaboration with Sales and the Event & Content Manager, determining where participation, speaking engagements, sponsorships, and exhibitions can generate commercial value. Oversee the evolution of digital marketing channels, including the corporate website, LinkedIn, newsletters, search engine optimization (SEO), and video content, ensuring consistent and effective communication of the organization's value proposition. Support customer and partner marketing through product updates, customer communications, executive roundtables, joint case studies, and user events that strengthen relationships and encourage account expansion. Establish scalable marketing operations, including calendars, workflows, templates, performance metrics, and quality standards that improve efficiency and consistency. Manage external agencies, designers, videographers, public relations specialists, and other marketing partners within approved budgets. Lead, mentor, and develop the Event & Content Manager, establish priorities, identify capability gaps, and recommend future hires to build a scalable marketing team. Collaborate with Delivery and Customer Success teams to identify storytelling opportunities early, ensuring that important customer outcomes and technical achievements are captured effectively. Define marketing priorities and approve external-facing materials while escalating decisions involving pricing, commercial commitments, customer confidentiality, legal approvals, and expenditures outside the approved budget to executive leadership. Measure marketing effectiveness through commercial impact, sales enablement, customer engagement, market visibility, and contribution to strategic opportunities rather than content volume alone. Requirements: At least 7 years of B2B marketing experience, preferably in complex technical industries such as industrial technology, infrastructure technology, engineering software, construction technology, robotics, geospatial technology, enterprise SaaS, utilities, or asset management. Demonstrated experience building or significantly scaling a B2B marketing function, including developing strategies, establishing processes, and creating repeatable marketing programs. Strong product marketing expertise, with the ability to translate sophisticated technical concepts into clear, differentiated value propositions that resonate with enterprise customers. Experience supporting complex enterprise sales cycles and developing sales enablement materials that help commercial teams communicate value, address customer needs, and close opportunities. Proven ability to develop and execute marketing strategies while remaining hands-on in content creation, messaging, positioning, campaign development, and other core marketing activities. Excellent storytelling, writing, editing, and presentation skills, with the ability to create compelling customer narratives, executive communications, case studies, technical content, and high-quality sales collateral. Experience collaborating with technical teams, executives, customers, and external agencies to gather insights and translate complex information into effective marketing communications. Strong understanding of digital marketing channels, including website management, LinkedIn, newsletters, SEO, video, and other content distribution methods. Experience planning or supporting industry conferences, events, public relations initiatives, thought leadership programs, and strategic partnerships. Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring or managing marketing professionals and coordinating external agencies, contractors, and creative partners. Strong strategic thinking, prioritization, and project management skills, with the ability to identify opportunities proactively and manage competing priorities in a fast-moving growth environment. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and align marketing initiatives with commercial and product objectives. A high standard of quality across branding, presentations, websites, written content, and visual storytelling, combined with a strong attention to detail. A proactive, autonomous, and results-oriented working style, with the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments, take ownership, and measure success through tangible business outcomes. Genuine curiosity about emerging technologies and the ability to understand complex innovations without necessarily having an engineering background. The ability to recognize compelling customer stories and market opportunities independently, without relying on leadership or Sales to identify every potential marketing initiative. Benefits: Competitive compensation: Annual salary ranging from CAD $110,000 to $135,000, plus equity participation. Equity opportunities: Eligibility for a stock option allocation after successfully completing the probationary period. Extended healthcare: Health benefits that include dental and vision coverage. Paid time off: Three weeks of paid vacation annually. Sick leave: Five paid sick days, plus statutory leaves in accordance with applicable employment standards legislation. Remote-first flexibility: Work remotely from anywhere in Canada while collaborating with a globally distributed team. Access to engineering facilities: Opportunity to work from or visit the engineering lab in Victoria, particularly for team members based in Victoria or the Greater Vancouver area. Company-wide gatherings: Twice-yearly, three-day in-person team gatherings in Vancouver focused on planning, collaboration, learning, and team building. Employee referral program: Access to an employee referral bonus program. Meaningful mission: Help advance technologies that improve the safety, resilience, and sustainability of critical infrastructure, including bridges, dams, and airports. Career development: Play a key role in shaping a growing global marketing function and help determine its future structure and capabilities. High ownership and autonomy: Take initiative, make strategic decisions, and directly influence marketing priorities and business outcomes from day one. Collaborative technical environment: Work closely with specialists in engineering, software, robotics, sensing technology, and product development to bring innovative solutions to market.
