We’re looking for a bold, imaginative Senior Product Designer to lead our most exploratory work and shape the evolution of the Lyft Rider experience. As part of our Rider team, you'll discover and unlock entirely new markets and user segments. This role is for someone who thrives in ambiguity, rapidly prototypes concepts, and champions ideas that challenge conventional thinking. You'll help define what transportation should feel like tomorrow, creating experiences that set new industry standards. Your work will fuel Lyft's growth by uncovering overlooked opportunities and turning untapped audiences into loyal riders. We're looking for someone who champions a customer-first mindset and thrives in a fast-moving, ever-evolving environment. You’re experienced across the full product design lifecycle – from shaping early ideas to refining the details that ship. You'll use your craft, systems thinking, and product intuition to lead high-impact work across key parts of the Rider experience. As a Senior Product Designer on the Rider team, you will drive 0-1 product initiatives that unlock new growth opportunities for Lyft. We are looking for an innovative thinker who thrives in uncharted territory, proactively identifies emerging rider needs, and creates experiences that transform everyday trips into lasting customer loyalty. In this role, you will: Pioneer 0-1 Product Strategy: Discover untapped market potential, challenge existing paradigms, and build market-defining products that bring new riders to our platform. Design Embedded Partner Touchpoints: Lead design efforts across third-party ecosystems (e.g., airline, hotel, and travel partners). You will create seamless end-to-end booking flows, scheduling widgets, deeplinks, and agentic (MCP) integrations for both scheduled and on-demand rides. Drive Engagement & Conversion: Craft targeted value levers and incentive structures that encourage third-party users to transition into and engage with the primary Lyft app. Execute Rapidly with Cross-Functional Impact: Validate hypotheses through rapid prototyping, iterate based on user insights, and align cross-functional partners around ambitious visions. This position provides the autonomy to shape Lyft’s future direction, backed by the support to execute bold ideas and deliver transformative user experiences. Responsibilities: Lead the conceptualization and design of net-new product experiences that open entirely new market segments Develop deep empathy for undiscovered user needs through immersive research, trend analysis, and intuitive market sensing to inform breakthrough experiences Quickly generate, test, and iterate on multiple concepts simultaneously, embracing calculated risks and learning from both successes and failures Anticipate market shifts before they happen and proactively design solutions that position Lyft ahead of emerging trends and behaviors Rally product managers, engineers, researchers, and executives around ambitious visions, inspiring teams to pursue transformative opportunities Pivot gracefully between strategic thinking and hands-on delivery as conditions evolve, demonstrating flexibility without compromising quality Connect design decisions directly to business outcomes, with a keen understanding of how your work drives key metrics and unlocks new revenue streams Experience: 6+ years of experience working in UX, UI, HCI related field with experience working on web and mobile design Experience working with a lean team of Engineers, Product Managers and Program Managers Experience designing innovative products for desktop and mobile Excellent oral and written communication skills Experience with user research methods and analysis Expertise with Figma and other prototyping tools Excellence in design craft Ability to work with a low-ego, highly collaborative, cross-functional team Excited about working in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment Benefits: Extended health and dental coverage options, along with life insurance and disability benefits Mental health benefits Family building benefits Child care and pet benefits Access to a Lyft funded Health Care Savings Account RRSP plan with company match to help save for your future In addition to provincial observed holidays, salaried team members are covered under Lyft's flexible paid time off policy. This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the office at least 3 days per week, including on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year. #Hybrid The expected base pay range for this position in the Toronto area is CAD $136,000 - CAD $170,000, not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location.
