ABOUT THE ROLE Join a product engineering team at a Series A consumer fintech company building tools for personal finance. You will develop consumer-facing features that help people manage cash flow, access paychecks, and build credit, contributing to products that support their financial wellbeing. WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build product features end to end, from domain models and business logic to API integrations.
- Deliver and iterate on product work through data-informed, incremental releases.
- Use SQL and analytics tools to evaluate product and system performance.
- Debug complex state machines in event-driven systems that use pub/sub.
- Ship through CI/CD, own implementations through production, and help respond to incidents. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- At least 3 years of experience building backend features end to end for production systems, ideally in an early-stage startup or high-growth environment.
- Experience developing consumer-facing products and working with event-driven architectures and message queues such as Kafka, Pub/Sub, or similar.
- Proficiency designing and consuming RESTful APIs, including authentication, authorization, and rate limiting.
- Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL, data modeling, query optimization, SQL, and analytics tools.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, and system design.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD, version control, automated testing, and code review.
- Go experience deployed on GCP is valuable, as is experience in a high-bar engineering environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS The salary range is $120,000 to $200,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is available. LOCATION This is an on-site role based in San Francisco, California, United States.
