This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Product Manager, Ad Formats based in Canada. We are looking for a strategic and innovative Senior Product Manager to shape the future of advertising experiences within a leading digital retail media ecosystem. In this role, you will drive the development and launch of new advertising formats, helping unlock new revenue streams and expand opportunities for brands, retailers, and emerging advertiser categories. You will lead zero-to-one product initiatives, transforming ambiguous ideas into scalable solutions that deliver measurable business impact. Working at the intersection of advertisers, retail partners, engineering, sales, and customer experience, you will influence product strategy across multiple user-facing surfaces. You will also collaborate with external technology partners to explore new capabilities, including AI-powered advertising solutions and in-store experiences. This is an exciting opportunity for a product leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, balances user needs with commercial objectives, and wants to shape the evolution of retail media advertising.
Define product strategy: Develop and execute the strategy for new advertising formats and emerging advertiser categories, identifying opportunities to expand the advertising ecosystem and generate incremental revenue. Drive new advertiser growth: Serve as the primary product partner to sales teams targeting new advertiser segments, including payment providers, non-endemic brands focused on upper-funnel advertising, and advertising technology providers. Lead zero-to-one product development: Transform early-stage concepts into clear product strategies, roadmaps, and execution plans, coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver innovative advertising solutions. Develop new advertising formats: Partner with sales teams to explore and advance new opportunities across savings-oriented advertising, in-store experiences, and AI-enabled advertising solutions. Enhance user-facing advertising experiences: Design and improve advertising formats that balance shopper experience, advertiser objectives, retailer needs, and commercial performance. Manage cross-functional execution: Collaborate closely with Engineering, Sales, the Online Grocery team, and other stakeholders to align priorities, resolve dependencies, and deliver successful product launches. Manage external partnerships: Build productive relationships with third-party technology providers, oversee partner contributions, and coordinate integrations that support new advertising capabilities. Prioritize product investments: Evaluate market opportunities, business value, customer needs, and technical feasibility to determine which initiatives should be developed, scaled, or refined. Expand the advertising portfolio: As initial initiatives mature, identify and prioritize additional opportunities across the broader advertising ecosystem to support sustained growth and product innovation. Communicate strategy and performance: Clearly present product decisions, trade-offs, progress, and business outcomes to senior stakeholders, including executive leadership. Monitor product effectiveness: Assess the performance of new advertising formats and use customer feedback, commercial results, and product insights to guide continuous improvement. Requirements Product management experience: Demonstrated experience in product management, particularly developing and managing user-facing advertising formats and experiences. Product launch expertise: A proven track record of bringing new products or features to market, from initial concept and discovery through execution, launch, and ongoing optimization. Commercial and customer understanding: Ability to balance advertiser objectives, user experience, retailer needs, and business performance when making product decisions. Zero-to-one product development: Experience transforming ambiguous opportunities into clear product strategies and actionable roadmaps in fast-moving, evolving environments. Partner and vendor management: Demonstrated ability to manage external technology providers, coordinate integrations, and build effective partnerships that support product development. Cross-functional leadership: Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience collaborating across Sales, Engineering, Marketing, and other business functions to achieve shared objectives. Strategic thinking and prioritization: Ability to assess competing opportunities, make informed trade-offs, and prioritize initiatives based on customer value, commercial potential, and technical feasibility. Communication and influence: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate product strategy, explain complex decisions, and build alignment among senior stakeholders. Performance advertising knowledge: Familiarity with performance-based advertising products and the metrics used to evaluate campaign effectiveness is an advantage. Industry expertise: Experience in advertising technology, retail media, digital commerce, or a closely related sector is preferred. Innovation mindset: Curiosity about emerging technologies, including AI-driven advertising solutions, and the ability to identify opportunities to apply new capabilities to customer and business challenges. Adaptability and ownership: A proactive, collaborative approach, with the ability to navigate uncertainty, take ownership of complex initiatives, and deliver results in a dynamic environment. Location eligibility: Must be based in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, or Nova Scotia, Canada, as the position is currently open only to candidates in these provinces. Benefits Competitive base salary: CA$165,000–CA$174,000 annually for eligible Canadian candidates, depending on location, experience, skills, and other relevant factors. Flexible work approach: A workplace model designed to support autonomy, productivity, and meaningful collaboration. Career development: The opportunity to lead high-impact product initiatives, influence advertising strategy, and help develop emerging revenue streams. Innovation-driven environment: Work on new advertising formats, retail media opportunities, and AI-powered solutions in a rapidly evolving digital commerce ecosystem.
