This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer based in the United States. This remote opportunity is ideal for an experienced software engineer who enjoys building reliable, secure, and scalable applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain custom software solutions for internal and external users. A key focus of the role is SQL architecture, database performance optimization, and security. Working in an Agile development environment, you will contribute to both new projects and the enhancement of existing systems. Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL stored procedures, database models, and architecture aligned with business requirements. Monitor and optimize Microsoft SQL Server performance using tools such as SQL Test. Develop, test, and support web-based applications using C#, .NET, and ASP.NET. Build and maintain integrated solutions that leverage both Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server technologies. Enhance software architecture across new applications and legacy codebases, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and security. Independently deliver programming tasks while contributing to the design and maintenance of large-scale engineering projects. Manage source control, branching strategies, project work, and deployments using Git and Azure DevOps. Collaborate with developers, Business Analysts, Quality Assurance teams, and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle. Participate in Agile and Scrum ceremonies, support sprint planning, and contribute to continuous integration and deployment processes. Translate user stories, business requirements, and use cases into effective technical designs and software solutions. Apply security best practices to protect data integrity and privacy while maintaining high standards of quality. Stay current with emerging technologies and development methodologies, contribute to process improvements, and take on special projects as assigned. Requirements: 3–5+ years of experience designing, developing, and maintaining databases using Microsoft SQL Server. At least 3 years of hands-on software development experience with C#, .NET, and ASP.NET web applications. Demonstrated ability to design, develop, test, and support application components using the .NET Framework and C#. Experience with Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code, version 2017 or later. Experience with source control systems and code repositories, preferably Git. Practical experience working in Agile software development environments, particularly Scrum. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and handle a substantial workload. A customer-oriented approach, sound judgment, adaptability, and the ability to work constructively with colleagues and stakeholders. Preferred qualifications: Knowledge of logistics operations, particularly U.S. Customs brokerage processes. Experience with Git-based source control, branching strategies, and deployments within Visual Studio environments. Familiarity with Jira and/or Azure DevOps for work item management, sprint planning, and CI/CD pipeline deployments. Experience collaborating with Business Analysts and Quality Assurance teams across the Agile software development lifecycle. Ability to convert business requirements and user stories into scalable, maintainable technical solutions. Work Schedule and Location: Fully remote position based in the United States. Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., aligned with Eastern Standard Time. Participation in a mandatory on-call rotation is required.
