Full job description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer II, Mobile – Revenue Experiences (AI Native) based in the United States. As a Senior Software Engineer II, you will build and maintain the premium mobile experiences that drive subscription growth, customer engagement, and revenue for a large-scale consumer platform. You will take ownership of mobile features from concept and architecture through development, release, and ongoing optimization. Working primarily with Android technologies while contributing to AI-assisted iOS development, you will create seamless subscription journeys, payment flows, and monetization experiences for millions of users. You will collaborate with product, design, data science, and analytics teams to turn customer insights and experimentation into measurable business outcomes. AI-native engineering will be central to your workflow, helping you accelerate development, improve code quality, and tackle complex technical challenges. This remote-first opportunity is ideal for an experienced mobile engineer who combines strong technical expertise, product thinking, and a commitment to delivering reliable, high-performance experiences at scale.
Premium Feature Development: Design, develop, maintain, and enhance premium mobile features and services, taking end-to-end ownership of quality, performance, and reliability from initial design through production. Subscription and Monetization Experiences: Build and optimize subscription tiering, pricing, packaging, and positioning interfaces, including paywalls, plan selection, upsell and upgrade journeys, and one-time in-app purchase flows. Cross-Platform Mobile Development: Contribute to Android engineering and AI-assisted iOS development, ensuring consistent, intuitive, and reliable experiences across mobile platforms. AI-Native Engineering: Integrate AI coding assistants and agentic workflows into daily development, including requirements analysis, specification creation, code generation, testing, refactoring, documentation, code review, and iteration. Code Quality and AI Oversight: Evaluate AI-generated code with the same rigor as manually written code, validate results, identify potential issues, and remain accountable for the quality and reliability of all shipped solutions. Mobile Performance Optimization: Deliver polished, responsive, and stable mobile experiences by optimizing application startup time, memory usage, battery consumption, application-not-responding (ANR) rates, and crash-free performance. Experimentation and Product Optimization: Partner with product, design, data science, and analytics teams to turn hypotheses into shippable features, analyze experiment results, and guide decisions about subscription packaging, pricing, paywalls, and advertising. Advertising Experience Management: Maintain and improve advertising experiences, including ad placement and mediation, while minimizing negative impacts on application performance, stability, and user experience. Architecture and Engineering Standards: Contribute to architectural decisions, code reviews, technical standards, and continuous improvement initiatives across mobile codebases. Production Reliability and Support: Participate in on-call rotations, investigate production incidents, and resolve issues affecting premium features and application releases. Technical Leadership and Mentorship: Mentor fellow engineers, share technical knowledge, and contribute to team processes and engineering practices that improve delivery quality and efficiency. AI Workflow Innovation: Identify effective AI-assisted development techniques, share reusable prompting strategies, automate repetitive tasks, and recommend tools that improve engineering productivity across the team. End-to-End Delivery: Own the successful delivery of multiple features or experiments during the first year, contributing to revenue growth or improving the quality, reliability, and performance of existing premium services. Requirements: Professional Experience: At least 6 years of Android software engineering experience, with a demonstrated history of shipping production mobile applications at consumer scale. Cross-Platform Development: Experience working across mobile platforms, including at least 1 year of AI-assisted iOS development. Subscription and Payment Integration: Hands-on experience with mobile in-app billing and subscription platforms, including Google Play Billing and Apple StoreKit. Android Development Expertise: Strong proficiency in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and the Android View system, with deep familiarity with Android Studio, Kotlin Coroutines, and Flow. Mobile Architecture: Experience applying architectural patterns and technologies such as MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture, Jetpack, ViewModel, Navigation, Hilt, or Dagger within large, multi-team codebases. Performance and Diagnostics: Strong understanding of mobile performance, memory management, battery optimization, ANR diagnostics, and crash analysis. Familiarity with Android Studio Profiler, Perfetto, Systrace, Macrobenchmark, and Crashlytics or equivalent tools is expected. Experimentation and Analytics: Familiarity with feature flags, A/B testing, exposure logging, holdout groups, and guardrail metrics, with the ability to use experimental evidence to inform product decisions. CI/CD and Build Systems: Experience with Android continuous integration and delivery workflows, Gradle, modular build systems, and tools such as Fastlane, GitHub Actions, or Bitrise. AI and Agentic Systems: Strong technical expertise in LLM-powered agentic systems, prompt engineering, context-window optimization, and Model Context Protocol (MCP)-based integrations. AI-Assisted Development: Practical experience using AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot for substantial engineering tasks, including code analysis, implementation, refactoring, testing, codebase navigation, and documentation. Technical Judgment and Accountability: Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated solutions, verify correctness, identify limitations, and take full responsibility for production code quality and engineering outcomes. Communication Skills: Ability to communicate technical trade-offs clearly, explain architectural decisions, and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ownership and Problem-Solving: A proactive, product-minded approach, with the ability to manage complex technical challenges, prioritize effectively, and deliver measurable results in a fast-paced environment. Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with mobile advertising SDKs and mediation platforms, including AdMob, AppLovin MAX, or similar technologies. Familiarity with experimentation platforms such as Statsig, LaunchDarkly, Optimizely, Eppo, or GrowthBook. Experience with mobile analytics pipelines and data platforms, including Amplitude, Segment, Snowflake, or Databricks. Contributions to mobile open-source projects, internal developer tooling, or engineering productivity initiatives. A strong interest in emerging AI technologies and a willingness to share best practices that improve team-wide engineering effectiveness. Benefits: Competitive compensation: Annual salary range of $118,500–$216,500 USD , depending on experience, job-related knowledge, skills, and geographic location within the United States. Equity compensation: Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) included as part of the overall compensation package.
