Full Job Description

At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we're looking for a Senior Solutions Architect to join the Automotive & Manufacturing organization within AWS Industries. In this role, you'll shape and lead our technology strategy for global automotive and manufacturing customers and partners, acting as a trusted strategic advisor to some of the largest automotive and manufacturing enterprises in the world. You'll drive the creation of long-horizon technology strategies that tackle complex, often ambiguous business challenges—showing customers how cloud adoption can fundamentally reshape their business outcomes and competitive standing.

As a Senior Solutions Architect, you'll serve as both a technical authority and a strategic influencer—bridging technology vision with measurable, long-term business value for automotive and manufacturing organizations. You'll bring deep technical expertise, executive-level business acumen, and the ability to influence technology strategy at the highest levels, engaging C-suite leaders, business decision makers, and senior technical executives to steer the direction of enterprise-scale cloud transformations.

You'll architect solutions to the most complex challenges—breaking down intricate, multi-system problems into elegant, scalable designs that become reference architectures for the broader SA community. You'll pioneer new architectural patterns and industry-specific methodologies (spanning Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Generative AI, data platforms, and regulated workloads), and you'll shape the product roadmaps of AWS service teams by translating deep customer insight into clear engineering requirements. Working closely with account management, professional services, support, product teams, and the AWS partner ecosystem, you'll own the strategy for driving broad, lasting AWS adoption across your most strategic automotive and manufacturing enterprise customers.

Key job responsibilities This role powers the success of AWS's most complex and strategic Automotive & Manufacturing engagements. As a Senior Solutions Architect, you'll own solution programs end to end—from strategy to architecture to customer realization—driving measurable, lasting business impact. You'll operate with full autonomy, applying high judgment to decide where to invest your efforts for the greatest organizational and customer value.

A central part of the role is setting the technical and strategic direction for large-scale transformations—including AI/ML and Generative AI programs, data modernization, and regulated cloud migrations. You'll create reusable reference architectures, methodologies, and thought leadership—whitepapers, frameworks, and prescriptive guidance—that scale your impact across the SA community and the wider automotive and manufacturing market.

You'll act as a strategic advisor to your customers' senior leadership, earning trust at the executive level and shaping their long-term technology and business strategy. You'll anticipate emerging customer needs before they're fully articulated, ask the questions customers haven't thought to ask themselves, and lead the consensus-building required to align large, complex organizations around a clear path forward.

A day in the life Mornings start deep in autonomy workloads—reviewing sensor-fusion pipelines and simulation-at-scale architectures with Motional's perception teams. Midday shifts to Boston Dynamics: whiteboarding fleet telemetry ingestion, edge-to-cloud robotics data flows, and ML training infrastructure for locomotion models. Afternoons mean customer EBCs, unblocking a stuck Kubernetes migration, and pressure-testing cost-optimization strategies. Between meetings, you prototype a reference architecture, mentor account SAs, and align with sales on a multi-year commitment. You close the day translating cutting-edge robotics ambitions into resilient, secure AWS designs—always one step ahead of what autonomous machines will demand next.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
  • 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
  • 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years in solutions architecture or technical consulting, with deep enterprise cloud experience; experience with automotive, robotics, or autonomous systems strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on expertise architecting large-scale data, AI/ML, and real-time streaming workloads (sensor fusion, perception, simulation-at-scale, fleet telemetry).
  • Proven track record designing resilient, secure, cost-optimized architectures on AWS; depth in compute, containers (EKS/Kubernetes), edge-to-cloud, and MLOps.
  • Experience with autonomous driving or robotics stacks—ROS, simulation pipelines, GPU-accelerated training, and HPC.
