Full job description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Staff Software Engineer, Marketing Technology based in the United States. We are seeking an experienced Senior Staff Software Engineer to define the technical vision and drive the evolution of a next-generation marketing content platform. In this strategic, hands-on role, you will help transform marketing campaign development into an AI-driven process that can turn briefs into fully realized campaigns in minutes rather than months. You will oversee architecture and technical strategy across content management systems, no-code authoring tools, rendering infrastructure, and emerging agentic AI capabilities. Working across multiple engineering teams and business functions, you will solve complex technical challenges and establish scalable, reliable systems that support campaigns reaching millions of users. You will also mentor senior engineering talent, influence organization-wide technical standards, and align long-term technology investments with business priorities. This remote-eligible opportunity is ideal for a highly experienced technical leader passionate about AI innovation, distributed systems, and engineering excellence at scale.
Define and drive the technical vision, architecture, and long-term strategy for the Content Platform organization, ensuring alignment with broader technology objectives. Lead the design and evolution of a scalable platform encompassing content management, no-code authoring, rendering infrastructure, and AI-powered agentic systems. Identify and resolve complex, ambiguous, high-impact technical challenges that span multiple teams, platforms, and systems. Lead architecture and design reviews, establish engineering standards, and promote consistency, reliability, availability, and maintainability across the organization. Partner with engineering leadership, product managers, designers, marketing teams, and business stakeholders to translate business priorities into technical strategy and roadmap decisions. Mentor and develop Staff and senior engineers, multiplying technical expertise and strengthening engineering practices across teams. Represent Marketing Technology in company-wide technical discussions, influencing architectural decisions and encouraging the adoption of engineering best practices. Remain hands-on with critical technical decisions and implementation challenges while operating with organization-wide scope and impact. Requirements: At least 15 years of hands-on software engineering experience, including a demonstrated record of technical leadership at organizational scale. Bachelor's, master's, or PhD degree, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience. Deep expertise in backend engineering, large-scale service-oriented systems, distributed architectures, and microservices. Proven experience designing, deploying, and scaling AI-driven or agentic systems in production environments. Experience with Java and/or Kotlin, along with relevant technologies such as LangGraph, GraphQL, relational and NoSQL databases, and caching solutions such as Redis. Demonstrated ability to establish technical vision and lead execution across multiple teams, departments, and stakeholders. A strong track record of influencing engineering culture, architecture, and technical standards beyond an individual team. A commitment to system efficiency, availability, reliability, performance, and quality at scale. Exceptional communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence technical and business leaders. Experience in Marketing Technology, marketing automation, or growth platform systems is an advantage. Ability to work remotely from an eligible US state where the employing entity is registered. Occasional office visits or company offsites may be required. Benefits: Base salary: $248,000–$310,000 USD per year. Potential eligibility for performance bonuses and equity compensation. Employee benefits and travel credits. Remote-eligible work arrangement within approved US states, subject to location restrictions. Opportunities to shape organization-wide technical strategy and lead large-scale AI-driven platform transformation. A collaborative, cross-functional environment that values innovation, diverse perspectives, and engineering excellence. Reasonable accommodations are available throughout the recruitment and interview process for applicants with disabilities.
