Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Strategic Finance Manager based in the United States. The Senior Strategic Finance Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping financial strategy, optimizing business performance, and supporting high-impact decisions within a global, remote-first technology organization. You will lead key financial planning and analysis (FP&A) initiatives, partnering with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to evaluate business performance and strategic investment opportunities. From product expansion and monetization strategies to marketing effectiveness and potential acquisitions, your financial insights will help guide sustainable growth and profitability. You will develop sophisticated financial models, oversee forecasting processes, and translate complex financial data into clear, actionable recommendations. The role also offers the opportunity to modernize financial operations by leveraging AI-powered tools, automation, and business intelligence platforms. Working in a collaborative and autonomous environment, you will have significant ownership of strategic projects and contribute directly to long-term business planning. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional who combines analytical rigor, strategic thinking, and a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.

Lead and enhance financial planning and analysis processes, including quarterly forecasts covering the profit and loss statement (P&L), balance sheet, and cash flow, as well as annual budgets and long-term financial plans. Develop comprehensive financial models to assess product expansion, search monetization, marketing return on investment (ROI), potential acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives. Partner with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate business performance, assess investment opportunities, and provide financial guidance that supports strategic priorities and profitable growth. Analyze and communicate financial results, identifying trends, risks, opportunities, and variances against forecasts to inform business decisions. Own recurring financial reporting and analytical deliverables, including forecast variance analysis, user metrics, P&L performance, and headcount reporting. Conduct scenario planning and sensitivity analyses to assess the financial implications of changing business conditions, strategic investments, and new growth opportunities. Translate complex financial findings into concise, well-structured narratives and recommendations tailored to senior leadership in a remote, asynchronous work environment. Identify opportunities to streamline and automate recurring financial analyses, reporting processes, and workflows using AI tools and automation technologies. Leverage business intelligence platforms such as Tableau and Grafana, alongside AI-assisted tools, to improve reporting efficiency, data accessibility, and financial visibility. Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial systems, processes, and analytical frameworks while promoting accountability, transparency, and evidence-based decision-making. Requirements At least 8 years of experience in strategic finance, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), corporate development, investment banking, management consulting, or a related field. Advanced Excel skills and extensive financial modeling experience, including the development and management of integrated three-statement financial forecasts. Demonstrated ability to independently lead complex, ambiguous analytical projects from initial problem definition through execution and actionable recommendations. Strong understanding of financial performance metrics, forecasting methodologies, budgeting processes, and strategic investment evaluation. Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting practices. Proven ability to build productive relationships with business partners and collaborate across departments to achieve organizational objectives. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain sophisticated financial concepts clearly and concisely to senior stakeholders. Experience working effectively in remote, asynchronous environments, demonstrating strong ownership, organization, and independent judgment. A proactive approach to improving analytical efficiency through process automation and the practical application of AI tools. Preferred qualifications: Experience with Tableau, Grafana, Sage Intacct, or similar financial reporting and business intelligence platforms. Background in sales finance, go-to-market (GTM) finance, corporate finance, or mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Experience within technology companies, advertising-supported business models, subscription-based services, or publicly traded organizations. Strong critical-thinking skills, intellectual curiosity, and a willingness to challenge assumptions and validate recommendations through data. Candidates must be based in North America and comfortable participating in video meetings and periodic team travel. Benefits Competitive annual compensation: US$190,500–US$214,767, depending on the applicable professional level and global compensation region. Equity compensation: Stock options offering an opportunity to participate in the organization's long-term success. Remote-first flexibility: Work remotely with flexible scheduling and no fixed core working hours, while maintaining an average full-time commitment of approximately 40 hours per week. Transparent compensation structure: Consistent compensation for team members at the same professional level and within the same global region, regardless of function, gender, educational background, or years of experience. Healthcare benefits: Eligibility for company-sponsored health benefits for U.S.-based team members. Work-life balance: Access to team member support resources focused on employee wellbeing and sustainable working practices. Home office support: Assistance with setting up a productive and comfortable remote workspace. Co-working allowance: Financial support for accessing co-working spaces. Paid parental leave: Benefits designed to support employees and their families. Team connection: Opportunities to participate in an annual company-wide gathering and a team retreat, generally lasting four to five days each. Professional autonomy: An ownership-driven culture that encourages independent project management, critical thinking, and continuous learning. Inclusive workplace: A commitment to equal employment opportunities, accessibility, and a respectful environment for people from diverse backgrounds.
