SHE-CAN supports selected scholars in applying for a full-ride scholarship at a U.S. coalition college. The organisation states that the college-funded scholarship covers tuition, housing and meals, while SHE-CAN funds test-preparation classes and eligible costs not covered by the scholarship that a scholar’s family cannot afford, including passport and visa fees, one flight to the U.S. and one flight home, textbooks and health insurance. Candidates also receive college-application preparation, mentorship and leadership programming.
Eligibility requirements
The Liberia application targets young Liberian women, generally ages 17–20, from low-income households who are graduating secondary school by June 2027, are academically strong and active leaders, and want to pursue an undergraduate degree in the United States. Applicants should have less than one year of university or other post-secondary credits, strong English, access to a reliable internet connection, and availability for the pre-college programme if selected.
