Your Mission

The Applications team builds, maintains, and operates the solutions that collect high-quality sensor data from large freight and offshore vessels - data our customers rely on via SCADA, web, and other on-board applications. At the center of our work is the Software Engineering Center, our in-house backbone application used company-wide to design and configure software projects for vessels around the world. When something breaks, you're one of the people colleagues and customers turn to. You'll join a friendly, cross-functional team based near Hamburg, working in an agile, pragmatic way with short decision-making paths - and real ownership over what you build.

What you'll do

  • Own the development and ongoing evolution of the Software Engineering Center, from requirements through design, implementation, testing, and rollout
  • Work directly with colleagues across departments to understand their needs and turn them into reliable features
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and fix bugs - your code runs on systems used company-wide, so quality and reliability matter
  • Be a go-to person for colleagues, service technicians when things go wrong

Qualifications And Requirements

  • Based in Hamburg, Germany, or currently residing elsewhere in Germany with willingness to relocate
  • A relevant university degree in computer engineering or a related field, and/or solid professional experience
  • 3–5 years building software with .NET (C#), with a track record of scalable, maintainable solutions
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git/SVN, Bamboo/Jenkins, and Bitbucket
  • A pragmatic, analytical mindset — you can take a messy technical problem and turn it into a clear plan
  • Strong communication skills; you're comfortable explaining technical trade-offs to both engineers and nontechnical colleagues
  • A customer-first, quality-driven approach to your work
  • Fluent German (C1); good working English
