Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Engineer 1 – Cloud Infrastructure based in the United States. Join a platform and infrastructure team building the secure, scalable foundation behind an advanced enterprise security platform. In this role, you will help design, develop, and operate reliable cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure environments. You’ll contribute to infrastructure automation, improve system performance, and help engineering teams deliver products more efficiently. Working alongside experienced engineers, you’ll gain hands-on exposure to production systems, incident response, and cloud infrastructure at scale. The team values ownership, collaboration, continuous learning, and practical problem-solving in a remote-first environment. You’ll also use AI-powered engineering tools to accelerate development, automate repetitive tasks, and improve operational reliability while ensuring solutions meet production standards.

Design, build, test, scale, monitor, and maintain secure, reliable, and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure environments. Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions that enable consistent, auditable, repeatable, and scalable system provisioning. Participate in technical design discussions, contribute constructive code and architecture reviews, and help improve engineering practices. Collaborate with product and application engineering teams to understand platform requirements and deliver reliable, developer-friendly infrastructure abstractions. Contribute to an agile engineering team, demonstrating ownership, accountability, and a commitment to shared goals. Participate in an on-call rotation, support incident response, investigate production issues, and identify opportunities to improve long-term system reliability. Reduce technical debt and operational overhead by identifying root causes, automating repetitive tasks, and recommending sustainable infrastructure improvements. Use AI-assisted coding tools to explore solutions, support implementation, and streamline engineering workflows while validating generated output for correctness, security, and production readiness. Improve technical documentation, runbooks, and reusable AI-related resources to strengthen operational knowledge and help the team work more effectively. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field. 1–2 years of experience engineering cloud infrastructure for microservice-based systems in production environments, with consideration for performance, reliability, security, and cost efficiency. At least 1 year of experience using Python for engineering or automation tasks. 6 months to 1 year of experience in at least two of the following areas: Terraform, AWS or equivalent public cloud services, and Kubernetes. Experience working with established software development practices, including source control, testing, and deployment workflows. Experience participating in on-call rotations, responding to incidents, and operating production-grade systems. Practical experience using AI coding tools, such as Claude Code or Codex, in everyday engineering work, with the judgment to validate, simplify, or reject generated code that does not meet production requirements. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a remote-first team. A proactive, adaptable approach to problem-solving, with a bias toward action, attention to detail, and a constructive mindset in a fast-paced environment. Preferred qualifications: Experience with Bash, Golang, or Terragrunt; experience building infrastructure-as-code abstractions for large-scale systems; and relevant AWS certifications. Benefits: Base salary range: USD $122,400–$176,000 per year. Additional compensation: Eligibility for annual bonuses or other incentive compensation, as well as equity. Comprehensive benefits package: Available as part of the overall compensation offering; specific benefits and coverage details are not provided in the source description. Remote work: U.S.-based remote opportunity within a remote-first engineering environment. Professional development: Opportunities to deepen cloud infrastructure, automation, reliability engineering, and production operations expertise. Technical collaboration: Work alongside product and application engineering teams on infrastructure that supports business-critical systems. AI-driven engineering: Opportunity to apply modern AI coding tools and automation techniques to improve development workflows and operational efficiency. Meaningful technical impact: Help strengthen the scalability, security, reliability, and cost efficiency of a platform supporting enterprise security needs. Employment conditions: The role may be subject to U.S. export-control eligibility requirements and applicable pre-employment checks. Employment and access to controlled technology may depend on required government authorization.
