Full job description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Engineer based in Australia. As a Software Engineer, you will help build and scale a telehealth platform connecting patients with accessible healthcare services across Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. You will own features end-to-end, working across a modern technology stack to deliver reliable, user-focused solutions from API design through to production. A key part of your role will be developing and improving third-party integrations that support clinical, customer support, and operational workflows. You will work with data models, databases, and services to ensure the platform remains reliable, performant, and ready to scale. Collaborating closely with product managers and fellow engineers, you will help shape technical decisions that align with user needs and business priorities. This role suits an engineer who takes ownership, communicates proactively, and focuses on measurable outcomes rather than simply completing tasks. You will join a fast-moving, supportive engineering environment where your work can contribute to better patient experiences and improved access to alternative healthcare.
Design, develop, test, and deliver full-stack features across the platform, from API architecture and backend logic to frontend implementation and production deployment. Build, maintain, and optimize integrations with third-party platforms to ensure clinical, support, and operations teams have access to reliable data and effective tools. Design and maintain database schemas, SQL queries, and data flows across services, prioritizing data integrity, performance, reliability, and scalability. Break down technical work into manageable tasks, identify dependencies, and communicate progress and changes to timelines clearly to the team. Participate in code reviews, providing constructive, actionable feedback that improves code quality, maintainability, and knowledge-sharing. Identify technical risks and dependencies early, communicate potential issues, and proactively contribute to practical solutions. Collaborate with product managers to clarify requirements, challenge technical approaches when necessary, and ensure solutions address business objectives and user needs. Contribute to continuous improvements in engineering practices, platform reliability, and the overall patient and team experience. Requirements: At least 3 years of commercial software engineering experience. Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript and Node.js. Experience with full-stack development, including API design, backend services, and frontend implementation. Solid database and data management skills, including database schema design, SQL, and working with data across multiple services. Demonstrated experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting third-party integrations and APIs. A business-oriented mindset, with the ability to connect technical decisions to company goals, operational needs, and user outcomes. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to take ownership of tasks from planning through delivery. Effective communication and collaboration skills, including proactive updates on progress, dependencies, risks, and changing timelines. A willingness to contribute to code reviews, share knowledge, and continuously improve engineering quality. Genuine interest in healthcare technology and improving patient access to care. Experience working with health technology platforms or clinical systems is an advantage. Benefits: Competitive annual salary: AUD $120,000–$130,000. Work from anywhere in Australia: Enjoy location flexibility while working remotely. Benefits package: Access to a competitive benefits offering, with specific inclusions not detailed in the original description. Supportive work environment: Join a positive and collaborative team that values communication, ownership, and quality. Career development: Opportunities to expand your technical skills and progress professionally. Meaningful impact: Contribute to technology that supports patient access to alternative healthcare services across multiple markets. Modern technology stack: Work with TypeScript, Next.js, Node.js, Supabase, APIs, and third-party integrations.
