Software Test Engineer – Power Platform  #1127   Clearance Requirement   Must possess an active DOJ Public Trust, DOJ clearance, or be eligible to obtain and maintain a DOJ suitability determination.   U.S. Citizenship required.   Ability to successfully complete all DOJ background investigation and adjudication requirements.     Position Summary   Dev Technology is seeking a Software Test Engineer to support our government client with a modernization initiative.   The successful candidate will perform hands-on testing of enterprise applications built using Microsoft Power Platform and Azure Government , including Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, APIs, integrations, and related cloud services. This individual will be responsible for validating enterprise business applications, executing manual and automated testing, supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and ensuring software quality throughout the Agile development lifecycle.   This position supports the modernization of mission-critical systems used nationwide to manage interpreter scheduling, assignment, tracking, reporting, and invoicing operations. The tester will work closely with Business Analysts, Product Owners, Developers, and Government stakeholders to ensure all functionality meets business, operational, security, and usability requirements. The solution leverages Microsoft Power Platform, Azure Government, and modern DevSecOps practices.    Responsibilities   Testing & Quality Assurance   Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test data.   Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and user acceptance testing.   Validate re al-worl d business workflows, business rules, and system functionality against documented requirements and user stories using technologies such as Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse.   Support testing of interpreter scheduling, assignment, reassignment, reporting, invoicing, and workflow automation capabilities.   Modify test plans and test cases as needed to resolve defects or substandard results .   Conduct re-testing as needed to resolve defects or substandard results.   Execute end-to-end testing across multiple integrated systems and interfaces.   Document, track, and verify defects through resolution.   Agile Development Support   Participate in Sprint Planning, backlog refinement sessions, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.   Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Developers to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria.   Review requirements, user stories, and design documentation to ensure testability and meet the “definition of done” .   Assist with release readiness and deployment validation activities.   UAT & Production Readiness   Support and facilitate UAT activities with business stakeholders and government users.   Prepare test scenarios and test data that reflect real-world operational workflows.   Support production deployment validation and post-release smoke testing.   Verify application readiness prior to production releases along with post-release smoke testing.   Compliance & Documentation   Maintain testing documentation and traceability between requirements, test cases, defects, and releases.   Support Section 508 accessibility validation.   Assist with audit, security, and operational readiness activities.   Ensure testing artifacts comply with client and project quality standards.     Required Qualifications   Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field.   Minimum 3 years of software testing or quality assurance experience supporting enterprise applications.   Experience developing and executing:    Functional test cases   Integration tests   Regression tests   User Acceptance Testing (UAT)   Experience with Agile software development environments.   Experience using defect and test management tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, TestRail, or similar products.   Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.   Excellent written and verbal communication skills.   Ability to work effectively with developers, business stakeholders, and government customers.   Ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams and rapidly adapt to product needs.     Preferred Qualifications   Experience supporting DOJ, DHS, EOIR, ICE, USCIS, CBP, or other federal civilian agencies.   Experience testing Microsoft Power Platform solutions , including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse.   Experience testing Canvas and/or Model-Driven Power Apps.   Experience validating Power Automate workflows, Dataverse security roles, business rules, integrations, and application permissions .   Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium.   Experience with API testing tools including Postman or Swagger.   Experience supporting cloud-based applications hosted in Azure or AWS.   Experience validating role-based access controls and security requirements.   Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.   Understanding of Section 508 accessibility requirements.     Desired Technical Skills   Microsoft Power Platform (e.g. Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse)   Azure DevOps or Jira   Automated UI testing tools (e.g. Selenium)   Postman / REST APIs   SQL   Microsoft Azure / Azure Government   Microsoft 365 / SharePoint Online   Test and defect management tools     What Makes Someone Successful in This Role   The ideal candidate is a hands-on tester who can independently execute tests, identify issues early, communicate effectively with developers and stakeholders, and thrive in an Agile federal environment. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, curiosity about how applications behave beyond the happy path, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to work closely with developers and business users to deliver reliable, usable, secure, and accessible Power Platform solutions in a fast-moving federal Agile environment.     Our estimated salary range for this position is $90,000-$110,000, this presented salary range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
