JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Solutions Engineer

Group: Solutions Engineering Team

Manager: Daniel Pinto

Location: UAE

Company Overview:

Quvia is the first AI-powered quality of experience (QoE) management platform for things that move, like ships and planes, transforming connectivity and digital experiences even in the most remote and hard-to-reach places. The Quvia platform uses AI and machine learning to seamlessly blend any combination of connectivity, regardless of provider, orbit or network, into one, vendor-neutral environment. It then delivers comprehensive, end-to-end analytics and dynamic network orchestration that optimizes for the best possible QoE and end-user experiences. Today, Quvia works with world-leading, Fortune 500 companies in aviation, cruise, shipping and more.

Why Quvia?

  • Founded in 2019, Quvia is a fast-growing, Series A tech startup passionate about making connectivity and digital experiences better for everyone, everywhere.
  • Our industry-first solutions are already addressing major challenges for companies in the aviation and cruise industries – and we're just getting started.
  • Quvia is headquartered in the greater Miami region, with offices in the UK and India, and remote teams around the world.
  • As an early-stage company, all Quvia employees have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our growth trajectory, and the future of the industries we serve.
  • Quvia is backed by Columbia Capital, a respected venture capital firm founded in 1989 that has raised over $5 Bn of fund commitments.

About the Role

The Solutions Engineer is the technical bridge between our customers and our engineering and operations teams, assessing a customer's current network, capturing new technical requirements and pain points, and converting them into solution designs that deliver measurable business outcomes. You will own the journey from qualification through proof of concept to production. This role demands deep networking fundamentals across terrestrial and satellite environments, hands-on expertise in software-defined networking (SDN) and multi-vendor SD-WAN technologies, scripting and DevOps capability, and the judgement to evaluate emerging technologies and design solutions that scale.

Working on this technology, you will have the opportunity to make a major impact on the implementation and quality of Quvia's next-generation products. Our environment cultivates innovation and rapid product iteration within a creative solution space, and we need a dedicated, organized, and efficient professional who thrives on being integral to a fast-paced startup. As an excellent communicator, you will set appropriate expectations, keep stakeholders apprised of progress and action items, manage project plans, balance workloads, and ensure we meet our commitments; all while navigating the complexities of large enterprise customers. Above all, you will think creatively through complex problems and design and implement solutions that address customer pain points and generate economic benefits, enabling us to publish a clear ROI for every customer.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with sales to assess a customer’s current network, capture new technical requirements and pain points, and convert them into tailored solution designs with clear, measurable business outcomes.
  • Design, test and deploy multi path traffic orchestration systems across satellite, and terrestrial environments in customer networks using Quvia products and third party integrations. This will require the setup of a customer profile at edge, cloud and datacenters/POPs.
  • Lead proof of concepts end to end: define success criteria, design, hardware specifications, installation, configuration and testing of Quvia systems. Responsible for troubleshooting complex issues with customer, QA and Engineering teams, and own the handoff from POC to production.
  • Use scripting and DevOps practices to streamline solution delivery – configuration templating, workflow automation and tooling that supports demos, POCs and repeatable deployments.
  • Act as a technical advisor to customers, offering guidance on best practices and optimal usage of terrestrial and satellite communication systems, and presenting status updates and health metrics to customer stakeholders.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops for customers and internal teams on the operation and maintenance of Quvia products and their value proposition.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including sales, product management, systems, engineering, QA, and service delivery, to ensure successful project execution. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all solutions and services provided. Complete a successful handoff to all relevant teams at the end of the project.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of network engineering experience across terrestrial and/or satellite communications, including multi-link architecture.
  • Deep networking fundamentals, including routing and switching, network security, wireless, and datacenter networking.
  • Hands-on experience with software-defined networking (SDN) and multi-vendor SD-WAN and Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW) platforms such as Fortinet, VMware VeloCloud, Cisco (Meraki/Viptela), Cradlepoint (Ericsson), Palo Alto, or similar enterprise solutions.
  • Scripting and DevOps experience in a networking context – Python, REST APIs, configuration orchestration, zero-touch provisioning and workflow automation.
  • A track record of leading customer-facing POCs, deployments or migrations (for example, from traditional WAN architectures to SD-WAN) in large enterprise environments.
  • Proven ability to convert a customer’s current network, new technical requirements and pain points into business outcomes, and to articulate that value to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of managing virtual infrastructure using VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, or KVM, and a thorough understanding of computer hardware and operating systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to lead customer conversations at both engineering and executive level.
  • Commercial awareness: the ability to spot opportunities to reduce cost, simplify delivery, and open new market segments through better solution design.
  • Project management experience and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Satellite communication (SATCOM) systems knowledge and experience is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud-hosted networking and security (e.g. Azure- or AWS-hosted NGFW) is a plus.

What We'll Offer

  • Competitive Salary
  • Performance related bonus
  • Competitive Health Benefits including optical and dental plan
  • Pension Scheme
  • 30 days Paid Time Off
  • Paid Public Holidays
  • Share Options
  • Monthly phone allowance
