Full job description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a S&OP Demand Manager based in the United States. We are seeking an analytical and strategic S&OP Demand Manager to lead and continuously improve demand forecasting within a complex supply chain environment. In this role, you will own the statistical forecasting process and tools while partnering closely with sales, finance, inventory planning, and operations teams. You will transform sales data and business insights into accurate demand plans that support customer needs and manufacturing strategies. Using tools such as Python-based forecasting models, Power BI, Excel, and ERP systems, you will improve forecast visibility and decision-making. You will also communicate demand trends, investigate variances, and coordinate corrective actions with stakeholders at all levels. This remote opportunity combines hands-on analytical work with strategic influence, cross-functional leadership, and process innovation. As the planning function evolves, you may also help lead and mentor a growing demand management team.
Own, maintain, refresh, and troubleshoot statistical forecasting processes and tools, ensuring demand plans remain accurate, relevant, and actionable. Manage and continuously improve Power BI visualization tools that enable teams to review forecasts, apply overrides, and incorporate commercial insights. Facilitate monthly demand planning reviews with commercial sales teams and coordinate updates for key customer forecasts. Analyze and explain month-over-month and other periodic changes in the demand plan, communicating business implications and forecast impacts to sales and leadership. Collaborate with sales, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), and operations teams to identify planning issues, resolve discrepancies, and implement corrective actions. Prepare and present clear, data-driven PowerPoint reports on demand trends, forecast changes, and related business topics to stakeholders ranging from frontline teams to executive leadership. Support supply planning and operational triage when significant disruptions occur, helping coordinate responses and minimize business impact. Provide backup support for supply planning, reconciliation, and executive review activities while maintaining a broad understanding of the full monthly S&OP process. Integrate new sales opportunities and product development initiatives into the demand planning process. Drive continuous improvement by evaluating new technologies, including AI-enabled tools, and developing meaningful KPIs to improve forecasting and planning effectiveness. Build and maintain detailed knowledge of relevant customers, markets, products, and commercial dynamics. Identify, communicate, escalate, and resolve forecast variances, exceptions, and deviations from plan. Partner with finance, accounting, transportation, operations, and commercial teams on initiatives that improve business performance. Coach, mentor, and train colleagues, encouraging knowledge sharing, teamwork, continuous learning, and consistent planning practices. Contribute to process development and, as the function grows, potentially lead and develop a demand management team. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, Accounting, Management Sciences, or a related field. At least seven years of experience in SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning), supply chain, and/or finance, including a minimum of three years in a demand management role. Strong analytical, mathematical, and quantitative modeling skills, with the ability to turn complex data into actionable business insights. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, particularly in modeling and forecasting; experience with Power BI, Python-based statistical forecasting tools, and IFS or another ERP system is highly valuable. Demonstrated ability to own, manage, and continuously improve business processes independently, showing initiative and an entrepreneurial mindset. Proven leadership skills, including the ability to develop colleagues, encourage high performance, and support the growth of others. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and influence stakeholders at different organizational levels. Strong planning, organization, and problem-solving capabilities, with sound judgment and the ability to make data-informed decisions. Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and assess the implications of decisions for a broad range of stakeholders. Experience driving process improvements, building consensus, influencing cross-functional partners, and making decisions in complex environments. Ability to operate effectively at both tactical and strategic levels, connecting day-to-day planning activities with broader business objectives. Self-motivation, adaptability, and a collaborative approach, including a willingness to seek input and support when facing unfamiliar challenges. Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, coordinate diverse stakeholders, and deliver results within established timelines. Commitment to continuous learning, customer focus, safety, integrity, teamwork, and a growth-oriented working culture. Benefits: Work arrangement: Full-time remote position within the United States. Healthcare coverage: Medical, dental, and vision insurance. Retirement savings: 401(k) plan with employer matching. Paid time off: Vacation time and paid holidays. Insurance protection: Disability, life, accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D), and long-term care insurance. Employee well-being: Access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Performance incentives: Competitive incentive bonus opportunities. Career growth: Opportunities for advancement, professional development, and expanded leadership responsibilities. Collaborative culture: An inclusive workplace that values safety, teamwork, customer success, continuous growth, courage, and respect. Process innovation: Opportunities to shape forecasting practices, improve planning technology, and introduce new tools and performance measures.
