What you’ll do At Scout, we understand Industrial Engineering and the work on our Production System as a guidance towards productive production processes and human work design. It scouts us – every day and in each measurement we take.   The Specialist Industrial Engineering and Production System is responsible for a productive mindset throughout the company and the establishment of a reliable and robust Production System. The Specialist will report to the Director IE & Production System.   Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following: Supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of Lean culture of Scout as well as a unified production system in all departments.   Defining and establishing lean methods, processes and optimization concepts for production   Developing, implementing and tracking of measures to increase productivity on the basis of relevant KPIs   Analyzing and monitoring the plant productivity KPIs and recommending corrective measures.   Develop recommendations and support the implementation of site specific programs, strategies, communication concepts and objectives agreements    Implement and track productivity and labor-related budgets as well as process development and manufacturing performance for all departments   Set up and development of production process plans as well as identification, evaluation and coordination of the time factor/labor requirements and management of the production time credit.   Design of workplaces and new work processes, including their system-side mapping with work boards, layouts and point plans, taking into account walking routes, supply of materials and vehicle sequence.    Ergonomic evaluation and design of work processes using the methodology agreed in the company to enhance ergonomic workplaces   Preparing, carrying out and monitoring relocation scopes to optimize the process flow in terms of productivity and quality in cooperation with planning and production   Location & Travel Expectations : This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in  Blythewood, South Carolina This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.  Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time. Here's what else you'll bring:  5+ years of professional experience in automotive production or similar production field.    Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.  An equivalent amount of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.    Special skills in Lean Management and IE, like:   Production time standards, labor calculations, and process management systems   Human-centered work design and workstation optimization tools   Lean manufacturing principles and practices   Continuous improvement program development and management   Industrial engineering methods, analysis, and application in automotive manufacturing   Standardized methods for analyzing work steps and establishing production time standards   Industrial engineering systems for work planning, facility layout, and product design   Desirable skills   Facilitation and coordination of continuous improvement workshops   Production process planning and sequencing   Understanding of product requirements and their impact on processes, equipment, and ergonomics   Proficiency with office and web-based applications, including presenting results to teams and leadership   Customer-focused approach   Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail   Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment   What you'll gain The benefits of joining Scout include the chance to build products and a company from the ground up .  This is a chance to create something new and lasting – with an iconic brand at its foundation .  In addition, Scout provides competitive compensation and benefits to support your physical, mental, and financial wellbeing. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
