Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Agency Management Specialist based in the United States. The Sr. Agency Management Specialist is responsible for developing strong agency partnerships and driving sustainable, profitable business growth across an assigned territory. Acting as a key liaison between independent agents, underwriting teams, and corporate departments, this role combines relationship management, business development, and underwriting expertise. You will evaluate agency performance, identify opportunities for growth, and help partners maximize their business potential. The position also involves delivering training, promoting effective use of digital tools, and ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines and company policies. Through regular field engagement and collaboration, you will strengthen agency performance, improve operational effectiveness, and support long-term business success. This opportunity is well suited to an experienced insurance professional who thrives in a results-driven, relationship-focused environment.

The Sr. Agency Management Specialist oversees agency relationships and performance, ensuring alignment with business objectives, underwriting standards, and operational priorities. Key responsibilities include: Develop and maintain a profitable agency network familiar with the organization's initiatives, products, policies, procedures, and services. Apply consistent underwriting judgment, follow pricing philosophies, and promote an efficient, straightforward experience for agency partners. Monitor agency performance, including business growth, profitability, policy count, share of wallet, and compliance with established policies and initiatives. Build productive working relationships with agents, regional underwriting and claims teams, and corporate departments. Deliver underwriting, sales, and technology training to agents and their staff, while mentoring less experienced Agency Management Specialists. Maintain open, effective two-way communication with agents and encourage adoption of internal systems and digital tools. Conduct risk inspections in accordance with established loss control guidelines, recommend risk improvements or corrective actions, and document findings and follow-up activities. Monitor industry developments, emerging products, new ideas, and competitor practices, communicating relevant opportunities and risks to the organization. Audit agents' One & Done books of business and provide quality assurance feedback to agents and underwriting teams. Meet regularly with colleagues in commercial management, loss control, surety, and personal lines, where applicable, to review agency results and identify opportunities for growth and profitability. Travel throughout the assigned territory, with automobile travel accounting for approximately 40–50% of working time. Requirements: Candidates should bring substantial insurance industry experience, strong agency relationship management capabilities, and a proven ability to achieve business objectives independently. The role requires sound judgment, commercial awareness, and the ability to influence and support external partners. Required and preferred qualifications include: A proven track record of establishing, prioritizing, and achieving business goals. Significant experience as an Agency Management Specialist, with demonstrated success in agency development and performance management. A college degree preferred, along with at least 6 years of underwriting, marketing, or field underwriting experience. Four years of Agency Management and rating experience preferred. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Strong organizational skills and a proactive, self-motivated, flexible, and results-oriented approach. The ability to work independently from a remote location while managing priorities and delivering high-quality results. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and relevant business software, with the ability to use technology to maximize productivity. A valid state-issued driver's license in good standing and the ability to drive throughout the assigned territory. Benefits: Annual base salary ranging from $106,000 to $137,000 USD , depending on geographic location, qualifications, experience, skills, performance, and business needs. Eligibility for an incentive plan at all levels, with an aggressive production bonus structure. Comprehensive healthcare plans. Retirement savings plan with company matching contributions. Discounted employee stock purchase program. Tuition assistance and reimbursement programs. 20 days of paid time off. Benefits designed to support employees' health, financial goals, and work-life balance.
