Full job description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Demand Planner based in the United States. We are seeking an experienced, analytical Sr. Demand Planner to lead demand forecasting and support strategic supply chain decisions across a diverse product portfolio. In this fully remote role, you will develop and continuously refine a rolling 12-month forecast, integrating historical sales, customer projections, commercial insights, and market trends. You will collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders to align demand expectations and coordinate Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) discussions. Your analysis will help improve forecast accuracy, strengthen inventory planning, and support operational efficiency. The ideal candidate combines strong quantitative skills with sound judgment, particularly when working with incomplete or inconsistent data. This is an opportunity to drive continuous improvement and contribute to better-informed business decisions in a collaborative manufacturing and distribution environment.
Develop, maintain, and continuously improve a rolling 12-month, item-level demand forecast covering the full product portfolio, including new, mature, seasonal, promotional, and discontinued products. Analyze historical sales and order data, customer forecasts, market signals, promotions, pricing changes, product lifecycle developments, and other factors that influence demand. Consolidate, clean, validate, and reconcile data from multiple internal systems and customer sources, documenting assumptions, highlighting gaps, and resolving inconsistencies where possible. Track forecast accuracy and bias, investigate variances, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions in collaboration with commercial and operational teams. Prepare and coordinate Sales and Operations Planning meetings, including data preparation, presentation materials, decision tracking, and follow-up activities. Maintain forecasting parameters, product hierarchies, customer mappings, and forecast inputs while improving data quality and planning processes. Provide timely, accurate, and clearly documented demand assumptions to support inventory management, supply planning, and service-level decisions. Develop a strong understanding of products, markets, and customers to make informed forecasting recommendations. Communicate forecast changes, underlying assumptions, performance metrics, risks, and recommended actions to key stakeholders. Build effective cross-functional relationships, identify process and data-quality issues, and implement practical solutions that improve planning effectiveness. Requirements At least five years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, supply chain analytics, business analytics, or a related field. Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Operations Research, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline. Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with relevant business systems and Microsoft applications. Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, including the capacity to draw defensible conclusions from incomplete, inconsistent, or imperfect data. Demonstrated ability to consolidate, clean, validate, interpret, and reconcile information from multiple internal and external sources. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain forecast assumptions and recommendations clearly. Ability to work independently, collaborate effectively across functions, and constructively challenge assumptions when needed. Experience with demand planning tools, ERP platforms, business intelligence solutions, or statistical forecasting systems is preferred. Working knowledge of time-series forecasting, seasonality, trend analysis, forecast value added, segmentation, and exception-based planning is an advantage. Familiarity with customer-provided forecasts, point-of-sale data, order history, and other external demand signals is desirable. Understanding of inventory management, supply planning, service-level trade-offs, and S&OP or integrated business planning processes is preferred. Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment is an asset. Benefits Work arrangement: Fully remote position based in the United States. Employment type: Full-time. Healthcare: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance plans. Retirement: 401(k) plan and pension benefits. Financial protection: Life insurance coverage. Paid time off: Paid leave program and paid holidays. Well-being: Access to wellness programs supporting physical, financial, and emotional health.
