We drive acquisition of new customers and deepen engagement of existing ones through horizontal, cross-functional initiatives, end-to-end experience optimization, and rigorous high-tempo experimentation — worldwide, across paid and free tiers. We are under the broader Alexa Core Experiences org and are looking for an engineering site leader based out of our Hyderabad office.
Key job responsibilities The engineering leader will lead multiple teams of engineers, owning and operating some of the foundational horizontal and vertical components that run Alexa. The leader might directly manage a team of engineers but will also have managers reporting into them. They are responsible to ensuring that their work is delivered on time and at a high quality, and for making technical decisions from software architecture to operational excellence. They will ensure your features can scale to support Alexa in a variety of languages world wide and across the wide range of devices on which Alexa is available.
The leader will have significant influence on our overall product strategy by helping define the features, drive the system architecture, and spearhead the best practices that enable a quality product.
Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of engineering experience
- 5+ years of engineering team management experience
- 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience partnering with product and program management teams
- Experience designing and developing large scale, high-traffic applications
