Overview This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the advancement of oncology pharmacy services and improve patient access to high-quality, cost-effective care. As a Senior Pharmacy Innovation Specialist, you will support strategic initiatives focused on pharmacy operations, medication access, specialty pharmacy, cellular therapy, and supportive care. You will collaborate with pharmacists, physicians, clinical teams, and operational leaders to design, implement, and scale innovative programs across a network of community-based medical practices. Using project management, data analysis, and process improvement methodologies, you will help optimize workflows and drive measurable operational outcomes. You will also contribute to evaluating new technologies, developing best practices, and strengthening pharmacy integration across diverse clinical environments. This role is ideal for a proactive, analytical professional passionate about healthcare innovation, cross-functional collaboration, and improving the lives of patients living with cancer and other diseases.

Pharmacy Program Development and Implementation: Drive the execution of strategic pharmacy initiatives by coordinating subject matter experts and cross-functional teams, applying project management, performance improvement, and change management methodologies to achieve organizational priorities. Operational Excellence and Process Improvement: Design, refine, and standardize workflows and operational frameworks to support the successful launch, optimization, and scaling of innovative pharmacy services across partner practices. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with pharmacy leaders, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, physicians, nursing teams, operational leaders, and other stakeholders to assess existing processes, identify improvement opportunities, and implement strategic initiatives. Specialty and Oncology Pharmacy Initiatives: Support programs related to specialty pharmacy, medication access, oral oncology medications, infusion pharmacy operations, cellular therapy, supportive care, and other pharmacy-focused services. Performance Monitoring and Analytics: Use available analytical tools and data sources to monitor program performance, evaluate key performance indicators, identify operational gaps, and develop actionable improvement plans. Project Planning and Delivery: Develop and maintain project plans, implementation checklists, timelines, and workstreams while coordinating resources and ensuring initiatives remain aligned with agreed objectives, budgets, and deadlines. Program Evaluation and Business Analysis: Assess new pharmacy programs, technologies, workflows, and vendor partnerships through research, business analysis, and due diligence to support informed decision-making. Documentation and Training: Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, workflow documentation, training resources, best practices, and implementation toolkits to facilitate consistent adoption across practices. Industry Research and Innovation: Stay informed about oncology pharmacy developments, regulatory requirements, reimbursement considerations, and emerging industry practices to identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Committee and Initiative Support: Coordinate pharmacy committees, workgroups, and related organizational activities, providing planning and organizational support to advance clinical and operational priorities. Requirements Professional Experience: At least 3 years of experience in healthcare, pharmacy operations, oncology, medication access, specialty pharmacy, healthcare project management, or a related field. Educational Background: A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in a healthcare-related discipline. A master's degree is preferred. Pharmacy and Clinical Operations Knowledge: Understanding of pharmacy operations, medication-use processes, and healthcare delivery workflows. Experience in oncology practices, health system pharmacies, specialty pharmacies, or infusion pharmacy settings is an advantage. Project Management Skills: Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects, manage multiple concurrent workstreams, establish timelines, and drive initiatives from planning through implementation. Previous project management experience is strongly preferred. Process Improvement Expertise: Experience identifying operational inefficiencies, improving workflows, and implementing sustainable process improvements. Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies is preferred. Pharmacy Credentials: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification and/or prior pharmacy technician experience is preferred. Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as project management tools and analytical resources. Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to interpret performance data, identify trends, assess operational challenges, and translate findings into practical recommendations. Communication and Presentation Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex operational concepts and project updates to diverse clinical, operational, and executive audiences. Collaboration and Relationship Building: Proven ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and build strong relationships across clinical, operational, and leadership stakeholders. Organization and Accountability: Strong time management, attention to detail, prioritization, and ownership, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results independently. Adaptability and Initiative: Comfort working in a matrixed environment with evolving priorities and some ambiguity, along with the ability to learn new technologies, workflows, and clinical practices quickly.
