Full Job Description

In the "Hardlines B2B & Category Expansion" division at Amazon Japan, this role owns the end-to-end MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operation) initiative — one of the highest-priority growth segments within Amazon Business Japan. As the MRO Initiative Owner, you will hold direct accountability for MRO GMS growth, define the short-to-long-term strategic roadmap, and execute against ambitious targets by influencing and aligning cross-functional stakeholders through shared goals.

MRO is a large and rapidly growing segment serving manufacturing, construction, engineering, automotive, and other industries. The addressable universe spans millions of SKUs across consumables (PPE, tapes, cleaning supplies), industrial equipment and parts (compressors, pumps, valves), plant maintenance supplies (gaskets, lubricants, repair tools), and construction products (light bulbs, breakers, HVAC filters). This role requires a leader who can operate at both the strategic and tactical level — setting the vision for best-in-class Selection, Pricing, Availability, and Customer Experience (CX) while driving day-to-day execution with urgency.

At Amazon, you'll work alongside the latest AI and GenAI tools that are increasingly woven into how teams operate: from AI-powered capabilities that accelerate decision-making, to Generative AI that helps you focus on work that truly matters. You'll have opportunities and resources to develop AI fluency at your own pace, with continuous learning built into the culture.

Key job responsibilities A) MRO Growth Ownership & Strategic Planning Own the MRO business targets and develop the short-term, mid-term, and long-term strategic roadmap with clear milestones and measurable goals. Build the annual operating plan, establish review mechanisms, and drive accountability for results through data-driven decision making.

B) Cross-Functional Influence & Execution through Shared Goals Influence and align multiple stakeholders — including category, sales, marketing, operations, pricing, and product teams — through shared goals and joint business plans. Drive execution across organizations without direct authority, negotiate priorities, resolve trade-offs, and ensure MRO targets are achieved.

C) Delivering Best-in-Class Customer Experience across Selection, Pricing, Availability & CX Define and execute the strategy to achieve competitive leadership across the four pillars of B2B procurement excellence: comprehensive product selection, competitive pricing, reliable availability, and a differentiated customer experience tailored to professional buyers' mission-oriented purchasing needs.

D) Global Stakeholder Collaboration & Influence Serve as the primary Japan representative for worldwide MRO initiatives. Engage with US and EU counterparts to align roadmaps, share best practices, and influence global product and technology prioritization to reflect Japan market requirements.

E) Go-to-Market Partnership & Customer Engagement Partner with sales and marketing teams to develop and execute MRO-specific go-to-market strategies. Leverage customer insights and competitive intelligence to continuously refine the value proposition and identify new growth opportunities.
