Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Software Developer I based in Canada. We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to design, develop, and deliver scalable business software solutions for complex, large-scale projects. In this role, you will contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, from application architecture and technical design to implementation, testing, and deployment. You will leverage Salesforce technologies and modern Agile and CI/CD practices to build reliable, high-quality applications that address evolving business needs. Working closely with cross-functional teams, project managers, and stakeholders, you will help translate business requirements into effective technical solutions. You will also provide technical leadership, mentor junior developers, and guide project teams toward successful delivery. This remote opportunity is ideal for a technically strong professional who enjoys solving complex problems, driving innovation, and continuously improving software development practices.

Lead and contribute to all stages of the software development lifecycle, independently managing smaller projects and providing technical leadership across small, medium, and large-scale initiatives. Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to define project requirements, assess operating costs, estimate resource needs, and establish realistic timelines and budgets. Participate in application architecture planning, including framework design, to deliver solutions that prioritize performance, efficiency, maintainability, scalability, and long-term sustainability. Develop high-level system narratives, storyboards, user interface prototypes, and detailed technical specifications that translate business requirements into actionable development plans. Design and implement applications in accordance with established coding standards, architecture guidelines, product roadmaps, and quality expectations. Develop system test plans, conduct quality assurance activities, and validate that completed solutions meet technical specifications and business objectives. Identify technical challenges, investigate root causes, and implement effective solutions that address underlying business problems and improve application performance. Make informed technical decisions that align development activities with architectural standards, product strategy, and management expectations. Lead and coordinate technical project teams, direct development efforts, and monitor progress to ensure deliverables are completed on schedule and meet stakeholder commitments. Participate in daily Agile scrums and communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and progress to team members, product owners, product managers, and senior stakeholders. Coach, mentor, and support junior developers through code reviews, technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and ongoing performance feedback. Conduct effective code reviews, identify opportunities to improve code quality, and recommend automated review tools and development practices that strengthen team productivity. Deliver technical briefings and demonstrations to customers and stakeholders, clearly communicating solution capabilities, implementation approaches, and technical decisions. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including the adoption of emerging technologies and responsible AI-enabled tools that enhance software development and problem-solving. Requirements A bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of application development experience, or 9 years of application development experience in lieu of a degree. Strong practical experience with Salesforce development technologies, including Visualforce, Apex, Force.com APIs, web services, and Experience Builder. Demonstrated experience delivering software solutions using Agile methodologies within continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) environments. A proven track record of leading application development projects, coordinating technical teams, and delivering solutions that meet business requirements and project deadlines. Strong understanding of application architecture, system design, software quality assurance, performance optimization, and scalable development practices. Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor developers, facilitate technical discussions, conduct code reviews, and promote consistent engineering standards. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical concepts and recommendations effectively to stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership and customers. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build productive working relationships across departments, business functions, and technical teams. Excellent organizational, planning, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills, with close attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality delivery. Proven ability to balance competing priorities, adapt to changing business needs, and manage multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines. Experience facilitating technical discussions, translating business requirements into solutions, and overseeing implementation from planning through delivery. Strong customer-facing communication skills, including the ability to deliver engaging technical presentations, briefings, and demonstrations. A continuous learning mindset, with an interest in exploring emerging technologies and using AI responsibly to support creativity, productivity, and technical decision-making. Familiarity with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is an advantage. Experience supporting large-scale Salesforce implementations involving multiple instances is preferred. Experience evaluating system performance requirements and leading application optimization and tuning initiatives is an asset. Benefits Competitive compensation: Annual salary range of CAD $102,000–$141,000, depending on experience, technical expertise, qualifications, and skills.
