Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Talent Acquisition Specialist, Government & Life Sciences Consulting based in the United States. The Sr. Talent Acquisition Specialist will lead full-cycle recruitment for consulting positions, helping align talent acquisition with business growth, client demand, and organizational profitability. This role combines strategic workforce planning, proactive talent sourcing, and data-driven recruiting in a performance-focused consulting environment. You will partner closely with practice leaders and senior stakeholders to anticipate hiring needs and prioritize roles that directly influence business outcomes. A key focus will be building strong candidate pipelines, reducing reliance on external agencies, and securing high-quality talent in competitive markets. You will use recruiting metrics and financial insights to improve efficiency, manage costs, and measure hiring effectiveness. The position is ideal for a commercially minded recruiting professional who thrives on measurable goals, enjoys building relationships, and can balance speed, quality, and budget discipline. Through your work, you will help strengthen consulting teams supporting government, life sciences, and healthcare-related initiatives.

Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from intake meetings and sourcing through candidate assessment, offer negotiation, and acceptance. Partner with practice leaders and senior stakeholders to forecast hiring demand, align recruitment priorities with project pipelines and utilization targets, and ensure critical roles are filled efficiently. Develop and execute proactive sourcing strategies using direct outreach, referrals, alumni networks, competitor mapping, and other targeted channels rather than relying primarily on job boards. Manage recruiting budgets and monitor cost-per-hire, agency expenditures, sourcing channel performance, and return on investment to improve cost efficiency. Negotiate offers and close high-quality candidates in competitive talent markets, including candidates considering opportunities with other consulting firms, industry employers, and Big Four organizations. Build internal sourcing capabilities and repeatable talent pipelines to reduce dependence on external recruiting agencies. Track and report key recruitment metrics, including time-to-fill, offer acceptance rates, pipeline conversion, source of hire, and quality of hire. Deliver a positive, professional candidate experience that strengthens the employer brand and encourages referrals. Advise hiring managers on compensation benchmarks, market conditions, candidate positioning, and effective interview and selection practices. Maintain accurate, up-to-date applicant tracking system (ATS) records and ensure reliable pipeline reporting to support informed hiring decisions. Identify opportunities to improve recruiting processes, workforce planning, and hiring outcomes while balancing business priorities, candidate quality, and financial performance. Requirements: At least 5 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including a minimum of 3 years in consulting, professional services, or another environment where talent capacity directly affects revenue delivery. A demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding recruitment targets, supported by measurable hiring performance results. Experience recruiting across multiple seniority levels, from campus and early-career candidates to experienced professionals and senior leaders. Proven ability to identify, engage, assess, and close passive candidates in competitive talent markets. Strong financial and commercial acumen, including familiarity with recruiting budgets, agency fee structures, compensation benchmarking, and the relationship between hiring decisions and business profitability. Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility and work effectively with partners, practice leaders, hiring managers, and senior executives. Proficiency with applicant tracking systems and sourcing tools, such as iCIMS and LinkedIn Recruiter. Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to interpret recruitment data, manage competing priorities, and deliver against demanding timelines. Effective communication, negotiation, relationship-building, and influencing skills. A results-oriented mindset, with a commitment to accountability, continuous improvement, and high-quality hiring outcomes. Preferred qualifications: Experience recruiting for management consulting, strategy, technology, clinical research, or advisory consulting roles. Experience establishing, improving, or scaling an internal talent acquisition function. Previous experience in a high-growth or partner-led professional services organization. Familiarity with consulting utilization models, bench management, workforce planning, and project-based talent demand. Benefits: Remote work: Work from anywhere in the United States. Flexible approved time off: Access to a flexible time-off program, subject to applicable approval policies. Retirement savings: Access to a 401(k) retirement plan. Tuition reimbursement: Financial support for eligible educational and professional development expenses. Family support: Maternal and paternal leave benefits. Work environment: Casual dress code and a flexible remote working environment. Purpose-driven work: Opportunities to contribute to initiatives that support clinical research, public health, and global healthcare advancement. Community engagement: Opportunities to participate in volunteer activities through a community engagement program. Additional benefits: A competitive benefits package designed to support employee health and well-being; specific healthcare coverage details and salary information were not provided in the job description.
