About AIRoA

The AI Robot Association (AIRoA) is a general incorporated association established in late 2024 with a mission to enable the real-world deployment of AI robots through the development of foundation models. Through a four-year NEDO project with a total budget of JPY 20.5 billion, we aim to complete the development of robot foundation models and expand their use worldwide.

現在、当協会では、フィジカルAIの社会実装に向けて、ロボット学習用データの収集・整備と、ロボット汎用基盤モデルの開発・提供に向けた取り組みを進めています。 今後、これら研究開発の成果を国内外のAI事業者や研究機関等による活用に届けるためには、技術的な価値や課題を理解した上で、戦略的にプロジェクトを企画・推進できることが重要となります。 また、そのために研究開発部門や国内外のパートナーとの連携を強化し、複数のプロジェクトを横断的に推進する体制の構築が求められます。 本ポジションでは、データ・AI領域の知見を基に、当協会が開発する基盤モデル等の社会実装や国際展開に向けた戦略の立案・実行を担っていただける方を募集します。

Position Overview

AIRoA is working to collect and prepare data for robot learning and to develop and make available general-purpose robot foundation models, with the aim of advancing the real-world deployment of Physical AI. To enable AI companies, research institutions, and other organizations in Japan and overseas to use the outcomes of our research and development, we need to plan and drive projects strategically, with an understanding of both their technical value and the challenges involved. This also requires closer collaboration with our R&D teams and partners in Japan and overseas, along with a structure for coordinating and advancing multiple projects across functions. We are seeking a Senior Manager who can draw on knowledge of data and AI to develop and execute strategies for the real-world deployment and international adoption of AIRoA’s foundation models and other R&D outputs.

• 当協会が開発する基盤モデルの社会実装に向けた、国内外のAI事業者・研究機関等への展開戦略の立案・実行
• 上記に関連するユースケース開拓、PoC、事業連携等に向けたプロジェクトの企画・推進
• 部門横断プロジェクトの統括、関係者との調整、予算・進捗・リスク管理、チームマネジメント
• 上記に関連する当協会エグゼクティブへの説明・ブリーフィング、その調整

Key Responsibilities (Examples)

• Develop and execute strategies to promote the adoption and real-world use of AIRoA’s foundation models among AI companies, research institutions, and other organizations in Japan and overseas.
• Plan and drive projects to explore use cases, conduct proof-of-concept (PoC) initiatives, and pursue business partnerships in support of these strategies.
• Oversee cross-functional projects, coordinate with stakeholders, and manage budgets, project progress, risks, and teams.
• Coordinate and deliver presentations and briefings to AIRoA’s executive leadership on these initiatives.

Requirements

• 以下のいずれかのご経験（目安：3年以上）

• AI学習用データの品質管理、データマネジメント等をテーマとするプロジェクトの企画・推進

• LLM、AI基盤モデル、AI学習用データセット等の開発・提供に関するプロジェクトの企画・推進

• 海外の企業・研究機関等と連携したAIシステム・サービス開発プロジェクトの企画・推進

• ロボット学習、マルチモーダルAI等に関する基礎的な技術理解を有し、研究開発部門と議論ができること

• AI／ロボット領域の業務のご経験、またはその社会への影響についての強いご興味があり、日本で実行することへの意義に共感していただけること

Required Qualifications

• Experience planning and driving projects in at least one of the following areas (typically three or more years):

• Quality management, data management, or related activities involving AI training data.

• Development and provision of large language models (LLMs), AI foundation models, or AI training datasets.

• Development of AI systems or services in collaboration with companies, research institutions, or other partners outside Japan.

• A basic technical understanding of robot learning, multimodal AI, or related fields, and the ability to engage in technical discussions with R&D teams.

• Professional experience in AI or robotics, or a strong interest in their impact on society, combined with a shared belief in the value of advancing these initiatives in Japan.

• ロボット学習、マルチモーダルAI等の関連分野における修士号以上の学位（VLM／VLAに関する研究経験を歓迎）
• VLMまたはVLAモデルの開発に関する実務または研究経験

Preferred Qualifications

• A master’s degree or higher in robot learning, multimodal AI, or a related field. Research experience in vision-language models (VLMs) or vision-language-action (VLA) models is particularly welcome.
• Professional or research experience developing VLMs or VLA models.
