What you'll do

Join a skilled Agile development team building and operating a large-scale cloud platform for SAP FinOps and Billing.

  • Develop and enhance cloud-native, distributed systems for collecting, processing, aggregating, and mediating high-volume event data.
  • Work on backend services and integrations with billing and financial systems, covering the flow from data ingestion and processing to aggregation and billing.
  • Contribute to Big Data processing pipelines and highly scalable microservices.
  • Work with databases, event-driven architectures, and messaging and queuing systems.
  • Develop and improve observability and monitoring capabilities to ensure system reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Build AI-powered tools, Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations, agents, and skills to support system operations, troubleshooting, monitoring, data analysis, and automation.
  • Explore and apply agentic AI approaches to improve how engineers operate, examination, and interact with complex cloud and Big Data systems.
  • Develop tools that enable AI agents to query system data, analyze operational information, and assist with day-to-day system management.
  • Help stabilize, troubleshoot, and improve the performance of production systems.
  • Improve and optimize development, testing, and operational automation.
  • Collaborate closely with skilled developers, architects, and domain experts in an international environment.
  • Gain hands-on experience with modern Cloud, Big Data, DevOps, and AI technologies while working on systems operating at significant scale.

Qualifications

What you bring:

  • Currently pursuing a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, with an academic average of 80 or above from a recognized institution.
  • At least 1.5 years remaining until graduation or currently pursuing a master’s degree.
  • Solid programming skills and a solid knowledge of software engineering fundamentals.
  • Experience with one or more programming languages, preferably Java, Go, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Experience with Spring Boot is a strong advantage.
  • Knowledge of cloud-native architectures, microservices, and distributed systems is a strong advantage.
  • Knowledge or hands-on experience with Big Data, databases, data processing, or event-driven systems is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of messaging and queuing systems is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes is an advantage.
  • Interest or experience in AI-assisted development, large language models (LLMs), agents, MCP, or AI-based automation is a strong advantage.
  • Deep analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • A quick learner who can work individually and take ownership of tasks.
  • Solid communication and teamwork skills.
  • Fluent English and comfort working in an international, English-speaking environment.
  • Availability to work at least 3 days per week — required.

The FinOps team within BTP Metering and Reporting builds and operates a scalable, cloud-native platform that processes high volumes of events and logs to generate metrics and support SAP FinOps and Billing.

Using modern open-source technologies, we develop distributed systems and data processing pipelines that serve SAP and partner products, supporting use cases from log management and SLA metric calculations to metering and billing. We also explore AI-powered tools and automation to improve how we develop, monitor, and operate our platform.
