Our partner is looking for a Supplier Capacity Leader – Forgings, Airfoils and Structures based in the United States. Overview As a Supplier Capacity Leader, you will drive supplier development and manufacturing capacity expansion across critical forging, airfoil, and structural component categories. You will work closely with global suppliers and cross-functional teams to increase production capacity, eliminate bottlenecks, and meet growing customer demand. Combining engineering expertise with strategic supply chain management, you will oversee technical qualification activities, resolve manufacturing constraints, and accelerate sourcing and development initiatives. You will collaborate with supplier quality, engineering, and supply chain leaders to ensure production growth aligns with quality standards and technical requirements. Through structured project management and data-driven decision-making, you will monitor capacity expansion plans and address risks that could affect delivery performance. This fully remote role offers the opportunity to influence global manufacturing operations within the energy industry, with significant collaboration across international teams and travel requirements of at least 50%.

Lead supplier capacity development: Drive the technical development of suppliers across forging, airfoil, and structural component categories to support production ramp-up and meet customer demand. Execute global sourcing strategies: Coordinate development milestones and accelerate sourcing initiatives to address capacity requirements and strengthen the supply base. Manage technical qualification: Review engineering documentation, assess technical deviations, and analyze qualification data in collaboration with supplier quality engineers (SQEs) to expedite approvals while maintaining product quality. Identify and eliminate manufacturing bottlenecks: Work directly with suppliers to evaluate capacity constraints across the entire manufacturing value stream and implement improvement projects that increase throughput. Optimize engineering specifications: Lead cross-functional reviews of technical specifications, identify opportunities to improve manufacturability, and support production processes that meet engineering and quality requirements. Oversee capacity ramp-up plans: Develop and manage supplier capacity action plans, monitor milestones, track progress, and provide weekly status reports to relevant stakeholders. Support critical delivery requirements: Collaborate with key suppliers to address urgent fulfillment priorities and ensure production capacity supports high-priority customer commitments. Balance supplier changes and operational risks: Partner with supply chain and engineering teams to evaluate supplier change requests, assess technical and operational risks, and determine appropriate actions based on business value. Remove implementation barriers: Identify and resolve internal and external obstacles that delay supplier development, manufacturing improvements, or capacity expansion initiatives. Coordinate cross-functional execution: Work closely with global commodity leaders, supplier quality, engineering, and supply chain stakeholders to align priorities, accelerate decisions, and ensure successful project delivery. Drive continuous improvement: Use quantitative analysis, technical assessments, and supplier performance data to identify improvement opportunities and strengthen manufacturing capacity, quality, and delivery reliability. Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college. Professional experience: At least 10 additional years of experience in engineering, supplier quality, supply chain development, or a closely related technical field. Manufacturing expertise: Strong technical knowledge of large forgings, machining, and industrial processing, including an understanding of manufacturing capabilities, production constraints, and process development. Supplier development: Demonstrated experience developing suppliers, increasing production capacity, resolving manufacturing bottlenecks, and coordinating technical qualification activities. Engineering and quality knowledge: Ability to interpret technical documentation, assess deviations, review qualification data, and collaborate with engineering and supplier quality teams to maintain product standards. Supply chain and sourcing expertise: Understanding of global sourcing strategies, supplier capacity planning, production ramp-ups, and the relationship between manufacturing capability and customer delivery commitments. Project management skills: Proven ability to manage multiple development initiatives, track milestones, coordinate stakeholders, and deliver results within defined timelines. Analytical capabilities: Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess capacity data, identify performance gaps, evaluate risks, and recommend effective solutions. Strategic planning: Ability to translate business requirements into supplier development plans, prioritize competing demands, and anticipate operational constraints. Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence stakeholders across technical and operational functions. Cross-functional collaboration: Ability to build productive relationships with suppliers and internal teams, align priorities, and drive decisions in complex global environments. Adaptability and initiative: A proactive, results-oriented approach to resolving challenges, removing obstacles, and supporting continuous improvement in fast-paced manufacturing environments. Travel availability: Willingness and ability to travel at least 50% to support supplier engagement, manufacturing assessments, and capacity development activities.
