The Research Fellowship supports 6–12 months of full-time research in Switzerland, while the PhD Scholarship begins with 12 months and can be renewed twice up to 36 months subject to academic progress. Both routes require an eligible master’s degree or equivalent, a research proposal and support from an academic supervisor at an eligible Swiss host institution. The scholarship period begins 1 September 2027.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants apply under Cuba. Research Fellowship and PhD applicants must complete the required master’s degree or equivalent by 31 July 2027 (30 June 2027 for ETH Zurich), must have been born after 31 December 1991, and must secure a supporting academic supervisor at a Swiss higher-education or recognized research institution. Additional residence, application-document and programme-specific conditions apply.
